Hey everyone....I havent been on here for yonks!!!!!Have been away and come back and been up to lots.........was still having real ruff time with Brooke and so with so many of my friends suggesting to try Brooke with formula I finally did it.WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!I was also giving her morning and night breastfeed but she was getting bit confused so put her fully on formula.....she is so much happier!!!!After 2 plunket visits where she had barely put on weight from breastfeeding I knew I had to do something.I guess alot of the reason she had been so miserable was because she was hungry all the time and my milk just wasnt up to it.I think I was so darn tired and stressed all the time and didnt eat or drink properly and made my milk crap quality.Whatever it was she is sooooooooo much happier since being on formula. And she is sleeping way better.I feel alot more relaxed too.Feel sad that I wasnt able to satisfy my girl with my breastmilk but Im not going to beat myself up bout it.She got 3mths of breastfeeding and Im told alot of goodness from even just that long ......Have just had a nanny stay with us for a week and help me get her into routine.Nanny was absolutely great.Got up to her every night for the week aswell so Im feeling very refreshed.......and feel like she taught me alot too.....anyway thought Id let ya all know how I was getting on since you were all so great to me giving me advice...sorry this was so long

Boiled water on its own is supposed to help ease constipation - apparently it's because with breast milk the fore milk is thinner, then the hind milk fills them up, whereas with formula you only get the 'hind milk' equivalent so formula fed babies can be more prone to constipation.

They say there is a big difference in the amount of pooey naps that a b/f baby has and a formula baby. With a b/f baby you can expect at least 1 dirty nap a day and with a formula fed baby they may only have 1 dirty nap a wk. Don't know how accurate this is but it is published in a lot of leaflets they give you at the hospital, but you can't always trust everything you read.

Well done Roxy! I am glad things are going so well. I have found cooled boiled water helped too. Even just a teaspoon before a bottle feed should be ok

When Arna went from b\f to bottle she went 14 days without doing a poo - was up at the hospital everyday with the midwife for 3-4 days!!
I think the rule of thumb the hospital use is 10days.

Good Luck!
