Hubby and I have just moved into our new house and we need to do some re-decorating.Is it ok to do some painting while pregnant?Not sure about the fumes etc.

I did. We had all the windows open in the room and I took regular breathing breaks.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Using water based paints is OK but I would be careful with oil based paints - also ventilate like the others have said.

There's a Wattyls paint called 'Ecoproof' (I think) and it is designed to have no/very small fumes and safe for babies rooms so I guess that's OK for pregnancy too

I did, we painted our bathroom when i was like 6 weeks pregnant.

I refused to work in an area that was being painted at work and we bought the eco stuff for painting the nursery but DH did it. I'm probably a little more paranoid than most though.

You can get low odour paints which will be fine.
I decorated DD room when I was 7 months pg and there were no effects to me or her.

I did too - we painted Gina's room, the spare room and the outside fence when I was over 7 months pregnant with her. And everything turned out OK so I'd say go for it
