I do it for 8mins. I didn't think 5mins was enough... didn't get the results I thought I was supposed to get...

Mind you now he's older I just stick them in the dishwasher!

Our one we just fill up the small circle in the middle and then microwave for 4 mins. But then depends on your microwave. I love my steriliser...best $5 I ever spent!

Yep, its 200mls and 6 mins for a 500-800w microwave, 4 mins for an 850-1000w and 2 mins for an 1100-1850w microwave. Thats from reading off the booklet I have with mine. And you should change the water each time cos it does evaporate, and if there isn't enough water (or alternatively too much), the items aren't sterlised properly

Sorry, but I just got given one and have a few questions too - hope you don't mind the thread jack.

What parts of the bottle do you sterilise? The bottle and teat obviously but there doesn't seem to be a space for the white caps (that the teats poke through) or the lids. Do these need to be sterilised?

I use cold, but I don't know that it matters. It doesn't specify on the instructions.

Yeah you should sterilise the white bits and the caps as well. If you have the avent steriliser the caps slot onto little hooks around the edge and then kind of hang above the teats (god I hope that makes sense) and the white bits I would just bung in there anywhere. There should be enough room for 4 large bottles, 4 teats, 4 white bits and 4 caps. It is also designed to fit their hand pump. (but obviously not at the same time as the bottles.)

yep, sterilise the lot! Cuppatea is right I did see a diagram of how to fit it all in and the lids slot in round the side and you pop the teat directly under them. Stand th bottles upside down in the middle and the white collar things lean around the side.
