Topic: Public School fees Posted: 08 February 2008 at 9:20pm |
How much do you public school mums pay for your fees? when kalem first started school it was $60 last year $80 and this year $100. The school has just been put up to a decile 10 which is good kinda but they lose alot of there funding from the goverment. I really don't mind paying it was just wondering what others pay.

The primary school in Putaruru has free school fees and stationary because they are trying to get people the send their kids there (which they wont)

I pay $288 per year per child. They go to a catholic school which is a public school. I also have to pay activity donations (as they call them) per term for each daughter which is $40 for the both of them.
I really an dreading my daughter going to college next year as that is way more she can reimburise me when she is older and sucessful

We pay $171 for the year if paid in full by end of March (10% discount) otherwise it's $190. Once Cam starts I'll pay $306 for the two of them (that's with the 10% discount). Its a decile 10 school.
For year 2 stationary we just paid $26.
That's without uniform (expensive!), activity fee (only $6.50 this term but have paid up to $20 a term depending on outings), fundraising.......

I have no idea, haven't had the bill yet, but whatever it is it can't be as much as having Maya in Montessori full time!
We used to pay $100 per year for my SD when she was at the local public primary.

Ours are
Alex
Primary School $100 fee + $10.00 for photocopying etc
Stationary was about $30.00 after getting some specials but had to buy a Maths homework book that cost $13.00
and already had a notice for the first Trip that will cost $10.00
Natasha
Intermediate $100 fee + $20.00 for Photocoping
Stationary was in a pack and cost $30.00
Notice about camp came home asking for $50.00 deposit on the $200.00 cost.
They seem to send home notices nearly every week asking for more money for trips, traveling minstrels, art teachers, crumping clowns grrrrr not to mention fees for sports teams etc. It never stops

Yup, it seems every week it's one of three asking for money for something school related!! Both Seth (aged 8 - year 5) and Lucretia (aged 10 - year 7) have camps in the next two weeks and both are averaging $200 each! Gah!!! Seems the bigger they get, the more expensive it gets too... Ridiculous!!!

Holy that is some expensive fees. My mums old school was $140 each child a year and then all the other stuff on top of that. The school i'm looking at sending Andrew to has a website with all that info on it so I should go and have a look.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

WE pay $100 a year for Quinn (yr 1) and Josh (yr 7) each. Josh stationary was $50 but I expected that now that he is in intermediate and Quinn's was just $20 paid to the school and they each get the same pack.
Its not the fees that get me but the school bag, uniform, shoes and the rest not to mention the lost clothes.
