I'm scared!!! But yes, getting excited too How are you??? Email at work is pretty rubbish at the best of time - I tried to send you one yesterday but they keep bouncing. I'm struggling with the onslaught of morning sickness again - and it's a bit yuckier coupled with indigestion and reflux. So, actually - 9 weeks sounds fabulous!!!

How are you doing??

oh you poor thing, i hope you feel better soon and that the next 9wks go fast for you.

when do you finish work?
I have 4 wks to go and i must admit i am looking forward to it...work is starting to get uncomfortable, trying to squat down to empty catheter bags etc isnt fun anymore. (not that it was fun to start with lol).

I am doing ok, i am finding i am getting really tired, and my back gets sore easily, i am also finding that somedays i can keep food down and other days i cant but over all things are good.

I have decided that i dont like my antenatal classes though, all they are focusing on is the stages of labour and pain plus pain meds, when i asked about bathing babies etc, they said that the hospital would teach us and that it wasnt covered in the course, which i think is wrong. its no wonder first time mums are scared sh*tless when giving birth if thats all the antenatal classes have focused on. i have decided not to watch the birthing video as its not going to help me in anyway.

how r your classes going?

Last one tonight, and we have to take along a baby bath, some clothes, a dolly or a teddy, a nappy and a plate of food (for the supper afterwards!). They did focus on the physical side of childbirth at first, but now we're dealing with the emotional stuff and the practicalities. Hey, re the birth video - totally un-necessary to watch it I think. All it did was frighten most of my class - and the old adage 'Ignorance is Bliss" fits here!!
I've got 7 weeks left of work (including this one). With Jono losing his job I have to keep working for as long as possible but it's going to be a struggle. I'm knackered enough now! Was asleep by 8pm last night!!

yeah thats tough, hows the job hunting going for Jono?

just dont tire yourself out too much as you will need your energy for labour.

sending hugs your way

Job hunting not really happening as he still has not been told what is going on - bit of a long story really but after telling him his job was gone, they turned round 2 days later and basically said it was business as usual til further notice. I'd already threatened to waddle (hehehe) down to his office and cry in front of his boss The job in Melbourne is looking like quite a good option though - working from home most of the time but with a bit of travel round Asia Pacific. And more money so I could stay home with baby a bit longer......

oh girl i am so with you on that one, not only in the pubic area but on the outside of my groin around my hips as well,

i have found the only thing i can do is to have a flat pillow between my legs so my top leg is supported but not sitting way up in the air.

my midwife actually said to me that when lying on my side it was better to have the pillow between my legs with my legs on top of each other, not in the recovery position as that stretches all the ligaments and muscles, and when you go to roll over, keep your knees together and you should find it more comfortable.

50 days to go and counting, i am positive that i will be a few days early, or is that maybe i am just hopeful, who knows, if this bp doesnt get undercontrol she will definitley be early. but hey i am staying positive, both Kent and I have spoken to her and told her that she has to stay put for at least another 5 wks lol

Clare,

I don't know if this would suit you or not, but a wheat bag is good ! Because I'm sensitive to heat though, after I've put it in the microwave I will wrap it in a teatowel or something. At first I dismissed the idea because it was just too hot at night to think about doing, but it's cooled down a bit now and doesn't bother me that much. Better to be a bit warm down there than to be in pain ! If it's really really bad I will take a Panadol, but so far I've only resorted to that just once.

I can only imagine what trying to sleep is going to be like for me once I am as far along as you are...

Keeping those knees together would have stopped all the necessity in the first place

I'm already doing the pillow between the legs thing, and thanks Jax for your suggestion re the wheatbag - I'll try ANYTHING!!!

I'm also getting crampy legs.... whinge whinge whinge!!! Listen to me!! But, on the upside - 50 days til my beloved baby arrives and makes me the happiest mama in the world

I've been trying to have a pillow between my knees as well, but find it gets kicked out and either gets jammed up between me and hubby, or if I'm facing the other way just ends up on the floor

Whn I get crampy / funny feeling legs (pregnancy and post) usually means my body is real tired and ive been doing to much and need to lie down in bed. Also a bath is good

Cramp can also be a sign of a vitamen(sp? my brain's dead this morning!) deficiency... in my case it was lack of quinine which is found in salt - Nathaniel would make me drink a couple of glasses of tonic water and that would help.
