I stopped BF about 8 months ago, we're not even trying for a baby yet and I am at that time of every month when I can guarentee beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'm not pregnant and yet the other day when I was on the phone to a preggy friend talking about babies I got that familiar wet patch around my nipple.

Me and my crazy hormones!!!

Hmmm. Bit of TMI here!

LOL I got that before I even got pregnant with Keziah.. then when I DID fall pregnant it went away till I was 3 mos through and came back strong and it hasn't let me down yet. Even had the midwives at the hospital telling me that I should open my own colostrum bank LOL

There's 3 1/2 years between Maya and the gremlins and I never stopped lactating in between. Kind of gross.

I'm pleased I was home alone at the time since it was hot and I was only wearing a singlet so the wet patch was really obvious! I lactated for a few months after I stopped BF Michaela but it went away - or so I thought.

Hmmm. Colostrum bank, interesting idea, you know some ladies pay large sums for face creams made from cows colostrum maybe we could go into business ***shudders at the thought***

Curious now, since your hormones were crazy like mine before Keziah and the gremlins did you get preg really quickly once you started trying?

i have been lactating for 7 years now and there is 4 years between my eldest and the next one.

Nope, the gremlins took over a year to conceive. Lactating can actually hinder conception if your prolactin levels are too high, but I had a blood test and mine were normal.

This time round we got pregnant really quickly, but I don't think the lactating made a difference.
