Just wondering if anyone knows what the story is with chicken after its been defrosted ? Is it still ok to leave a couple of days if it was frozen straight away or does it have to be eaten that same day?

I had a look online about this a while ago and it said that chicken is ok to use for 2 days after defrosting, so long as it is kept in the fridge.

ETA: The only warning it had about pregnancy was for listeriosis but of course you'd want to cook it really thoroughly and eat it right after cooking whilst preggers too.

I would cook it straight away if you defrosted on the bench as the temp is so different to having it defrost in fridge but then I am the biggest chicken scardy-cat

Yeah, its safer to defrost it over a day or 2 in the fridge than it is to defrost it on the bench.

Sorry but what's the difference between the microwave and the bench?
If it's all sealed up, and still wrapped?
