Do immune systems recognise that the endo building up around various places is a "malfunction" and try to fight it? Just wondering if endo could be a cause of feeling tired etc (or if I'm overworked!]

Have you had your iron levels checked recently? I seem to get anaemic anytime i'm not taking supplements even though I eat plenty of iron rich foods.

I thought about that, I've never really had probs with iron except in third trimester - but even then still within 'normal'. Bit reluctant to take iron suppls with constipation already though!

Tiredness is a huge sign of endo, busymum...

This is taken from the NZ Endometriosis Foundation website...

The more classic symptoms are:
•      Pain with periods (dysmenorrhoea)
•      Painful intercourse (dyspareunia)
•      Sub-fertility or infertility
•      Bowel involvement eg. pain before defecation, painful wind, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea. These symptoms are often associated with a period.

Other general symptoms may prevail:
•      Constant tiredness
•      Depression and mood disturbances
•      Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)
•      Pain at other times (eg. with ovulation)
•      Pain in other places (eg. Lower back pain)
•      Abnormal menstrual bleeding
•      Pain before or with urination

Are you being treated for it??

Oh, and organic iron supplements don't constipate you at all...talk to your local health store specialist...

Yes and has been for year; a bit of it is to do with lack of Iron (i'm looking at getting another course of jabs) but I also had GF when I was 16 and that sometimes like to come back not at full strength but enough to knock me out for a few days.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

My "treatment plan" is the Pill until I can get an op (prob next year sometime, I'm on public). Didn't realise it was a symptom, I'll have to mention it to my doc next time I see him (probably in 4 weeks time after next month's Ov).

I was thinking more on this today... it's probably not a immune system thing but just that the body is so busy doing heaps more work than it ought to be. Either way, I'm getting rather quickly sick and tired of endo!! I want it out and I have to wait waa waa waa

I'm so glad I'm having my op next week! I just sat here and checked off all but one on that list

For me it seems like the endo knows it's days are numbered as I'm having a killer of an AF and have been popping Panadol every 4 hours all day and night! 6 days to go!

I have all but 1 on that list.

Teresa I never did a "bowel prep" when I had my ops. Just the usual no eating for so many hours.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

bowel prep No mention of that - just no eating or drinking for 12 hours before which is fine as my op is 7am (or at least that's what time I have to be at the hospital)

I never had a bowel prep either, just no eating or drinking from midnight (my op was at 8am). I have endo and have all but 2 of those symptoms and the pain is slowly getting worse as well

You only need to do a bowel prep when they suspect it is on your bowel and they may need to do bowel surgery. That is my next (3rd)endo surgery...a horrible bowel resection due to lovely endo
