Topic: grrr at flybuys Posted: 10 March 2008 at 7:50am |
We had all these flybuy points and decided that it was a good deal to get a digital camera 600 points + $85, so we thought sweet.
Well....after paying the $85, we had to fork out $50 for a memory card, $20 for an extra battery for the camera, $10 for a camera case....so all up we ended up paying and extra $165.
Oh and to really rip yah undies....i went to the kodak website to find out more about my camera ($250) in the shops...they had it on special for wait for it $99 yeap $99, and because i had already ordered the voucher through flybuys i couldnt do anything about it...as flybuys once you order a voucher you cant unorder it...
im really pissed at paying that much extra....and after talking to the camera shop guy, he told me that they no longer sell cameras with all the bits due to costing so much, so they have brought the cost of the camera down and sell the other bits separately.
oh well, camera is great, and takes fantastic pictures...so am pleased with it, just not the cost

That sucks Kaz - did you have a digital camera before?
My dad gave me one for my birthday when I was pregnant with Seb, and it was stolen when he was 6 months old (along with our computer, so 90% of his baby photos gone) And he's just bought me another for this birthday, was $220? or $250 (I don't remember) on wholesale as he has his own one-person computer business. 7.1 mega pixels, 4x optical zoom and a really big screen for a tiny camera. came with a free case and 1gb memory card too as the package deal. Probably would be at least 2-3 times that RRP After a year of having only a phone camera (blurry) and a decent analog camera (film expensive, and we don't have a scanner) I'm feeling rather spoilt
