Right before the contractions started really good,or your water broke...or you dialated quickly?

Me nothing interesting, sitting in hospital after being induced with one and sitting on toilet after taking castor oil with another.
Hoping it will just happen naturally this time doing something normal, like watching t.v?

Thought it would be nice to share different experiences.

So ladies, what were you doing??

When my contractions started it was just before morning tea time and I was sitting at my desk at work (but the labour signs were there when I got up that morning). When my waters broke I was in the back seat of my car going around the basin reserve (5-10 mins away from the maternity ward).

With 1st bubba - absolutely no contractions all morning till standing in the kitchen making late breakfast when waters broke! Lucky it was on the lino!! Then spent the rest of the day in labor STARVING as I never got time to eat!!

Second bubba - had contractions all day at work 10 - 15 mins apart until the old nana's started to freak out I would give birth there & so sent me home around 3 o'clock, waters then broke about 1 hour later in the shower!

With 1st babe a friend of mine would completely cover his car seat in black rubbish saks each time we went out from about 30 weeks in case my waters broke in his car - it was kinda funny but also rather annoying cause I felt really silly!!

kawwww - my induction went really fast also, started an hour after they used the gel, ashame baby was OP and sitting up on my pelvis OUCH back labour, but he turned and and they vontused him out (had cord around neck) as they were getting me ready for c-section.

tashzmum - i wish i could do that, would teach my dp, for making it such a mission for me to get back in bed after a toilet stop. lol

I was trying to sleep! I got woken up by nasty contractions at 1am. Waters were broken in hospital by the MW at 6am.

did you have to labour long before they decided to do a c-section?

LOL Angie, I had the same thing. My labour started early am but I had no idea whether it would go for hours or days so I went to work for my last day anyway. Contractions were really obvious by 10am, I told my boss that I was in labour at 11am and I was bundled out of the office and into a taxi within 45 mins (it would've been sooner but I wanted to finish a job). You should have seen their reaction when I said I wanted to go home and not to the hospital.

Went into hosp for monitoring as I was overdue and they suddenly decided to break my waters. Was then told to go and relax or talk a walk for an hour and then come back to be induced.

I hadn't eaten and knew I wouldn't be able to for a while so DH and I walked from Akl hospital, through the Domain to Starbucks Parnell and had hot chocs!!!! I was having mild contractions all the way back and they fully kicked in once they put me on the drip.

My contractions started just as I was falling asleep at 11pm (of course!). Should have stayed in bed and tried to sleep, but was too excited. My waters didn't break until my mw broke them about 6.30pm the following night.

I had just finished a 9 hour work day and cooking dinner for 6 people and clearing up after it. I pushed the visitors out as early (9.30pm) as I could as I really just wanted to go to bed to sleep. As I went downstairs I felt my waters break and by 7am the next morning I was ringing my boss to say I wouldn't be in for work that day as I had just had my daughter
It was all a bit of a surprise really
