Topic: Help needed Posted: 16 March 2008 at 10:35am |
I'm a regular user of this board but made up a new ID to protect my family.
Ok a few weeks ago my husband saw an old school friend he hadn't seen for years, he invited him around and gave him our address. The friend never showed up and someone else told us he had stolen some stuff and was quite into the drug P, se we were relieved he didn't show up.
Anyway 2 days ago my husband was at our neighbours house (I wasn't home) and when he came back a strange car was up the driveway and this friend was sitting in it. The friend was acting really weird apparantly and took my husband for a drive. While they were driving the friend asked if DH had a shotgun, he asked why he needed one and the friend said he really wanted to blow someones head off. DH said he wasn't threatening to do it to anyone in particular just in general. We are both terrified now and don't know what to do. Does anyone have any advice for us?
Thanks

I would also call the police. Even if it is just to get advice. Seriously, that is a weird thing to ask and honestly, sounds like he is def on the P. You dont have to name names or anything with the cops, but get some advice and help quick!

If he turns up again, take his rego number and report him to the police, tell them about his suspected P use and the fact that he made a threatening comment (about no one in particular).
As for your security when you are at home alone, keep everything locked, do things at different times of the day, keep your mobile with you at all times, have 111 on speed dial. If someone comes to the door, check before answering it.. just common sense stuff really.
I hope for all of your sakes that he gets bored and moves on to annoy someone else.
Scary stuff though.

Oh my goodness - scary stuff. Yeah, I'd go with all the above advice. And maybe should you or DH end up in another conversation with the friend, throw in bits a pieces that make you guys seem less accessable or attractive to him - say stuff like your brother is a cop, your dad lives across the road and gosh darn it he visits constantly, that sort of thing?

OMG how scary for you! P is such a nasty drug, it makes people so unpredictable
I agree with all of Mels advice, and contacting the police is probably a good idea too.

I wouldnt contact the police to be honest - P users are unpredictable and if they kow it was you who reported them then he may lose it
I would get DH to tell him next time he is around that he needs to be careful and stay away cause there have been burglaries in the area etc and neighbourhood watch have been taking down number plates and reporting them to the police and that someone mentioned they had seen him "hanging" around and maybe he should not come around...that if he gives your DH his cell he will contact him for a catch up soon....dont give him yours...
that might be neough to make him paranoid (paranoia is HUGE for P users) and make him stay away?
or a similar type story. I wouldnt want him looking for "revenge" cause you guys dobbed him in
and tell DH to be more careful next time! altho I know it is hard when you see old school mates etc....esp coming from suth auck where P is prevalent!
