Topic: nappy bags Posted: 16 March 2008 at 3:56pm |
Hi ladies
im expecting my frist bubs and have been looking at nappy bags....really dont like the ones Ive seen in the baby shops like baby city and baby factory they seem quite plain and big and bulky....I love the oioi bags that I have seen....but whats the best practical wise in terms of baby bags? do you splash out on a oioi one for $200+
what type of baby bags would you rate / not rate?

I have a skiphop one - it is awesome!! I love it, thought it was quite skinny when I got it, but now that I use it is perfect!! Can fit all the stuff I need for the day in it!
I got it through the 3 wise monkeys website

I was the same as you and really didn;t like the ones in Baby Factory etc. I brought an Oioi one and didn't regret it. I know what you mean about the price though. They are expensive and I also really thought hard about it before purchasing. I always managed to fit what I needed in to it.

Ive got a jolly jumper one and I love it. Fits heaps in it and it also attaches to the stroller too. Cost me $20.
I honestly cannot justify $200 for a nappy bag when I don't even spend that on myself.

I have a Vanchi and I love it - it's $100 cheaper than the OiOi and just as good IMHO

I really want a skiphop duo - the new "duluxe" ones are out in the US, and I think it's cheaper to order over from there than buy here anyway.

I was given an OiOi bag (would never spend $200 on any bag) and looooooooooove it. Can not rate it highly enough. I've even been known to use it when out without a baby! Really really love it.

I OiOi bag, it was a present from my boss when I went on maternity leave with the gremlins and it has stood up to one heck of a thrashing over the past 18 months.

i got one from EGG maternity which worked out well...but have to say the best one by far as it fits in basket or hangs by the little clip ons, on big stroller or hangs off handles of jolly jumper one is the freebie one we got from J and J...a backpack...
seriously it has room for bottles (insulated), nappy change mat in front, heaps of room for nappies and my purse etc and a cell phone pack on the handles and more pckets and slip in areas than you ever need but do seem to use....and we use it for DC too now...would not be without it...and easy to throw over our shoulder if need be...me or DH without it looking like a baby bag....LOVE it!!!!!!!

I got my oioi off Trademe for $65 and it looks brand new, there are definitely some bargains there if you don't want to fork out $200 - I know I couldn't justify the price but I love my one

Kye, take a look at OiOi on Australian websites - cheaper than buying in NZ. Thanks for starting this post - DH and I went shopping on the weekend but couldn't agree - I liked a slimline one in JK but he seems to think I'll need a massive backpack - fine for him to say! Tis nice to hear about SkipHop as well - they look pretty cool.

I was going to get a satchel because I think they look more funky but in the end I put my sensible hat on and went for a Kapoochi backpack. Looks great, has plenty of room and pockets and easy to carry when you have to carry a big baby in a heavy capsule!

I didn't buy a nappy bag as such and just brought a big handbag and it has been great. Can take it anywhere and looks funky. I have an avent insulation bag for bottles and brought a fold up change mat. Only thing to watch out for is that the top opening is wide enough to pull right open and ruffle around in.
DH brought himself a plain blak satchel as his nappy bag so that we could both have funky bags that we were happy with.

I got a Kapoochi bag off TM for $40, can be both a satchel and a backpack. Can't justify the huge expense just to carry stinky nappies, clothes, and bottles. But that might just be me, I'm cheap! I love it, it has everything I need for both me and Jack.
