Is this for a current child you have...or are you planning ahead for the one your carrying?
There is 20hours free care for children aged 3 until they turn 5. This is not income tested.
And for cheaper child care for children under this age...or if you need more than 20hrs, there is home based child care. In wellington you'd have Barnadoes, but if you google 'homebased childcare wellington' you'll probably find heaps more.
Am looking for my child due in September (for possible child care from January)- thinking i will probably be working 3 days a week and also thinking i may need to look towards booking somewhere now given the baby boom going on around here at the moment.
It all really depends on how much my husband in earning at the time as to how much i need to work and how soon I need to go back, but unlikely i will be able to stay off work longer than about three months.
wellington central ranges from about $250 p/w upwards.
we had childcare in petone, and it was $200 per week for a 4 year old. i think it was $230 for under twos.
Well, I have found somewhere local that charges $49.50 a day (7am - 6 pm). I am going to go and visit it sometime in the next couple of weeks. It is an ABC Learning Centre. Anyone with an opinion on these? What should I look out for when i go and visit 9I am very inexperienced at this!)
