Baby’s position changing

I had been told that my baby was head down but not engaged and then at 34 weeks and 6 days I had a leak of waters, saw my back up mw who said babies head had engaged and that it had cause a small tear (quite common normally repairs itself in a couple of days), my waters broke completely and I went into labour 12 hours later (the other thing that can happen after a leak) and found out he was not engaged and that he was breach. He was extremely active that afternoon, with big lumps sticking out of my belly here there and everywhere. I still have no idea if the mw got it wrong in the morning or if he turned that afternoon. All I do know is that when I had a scan a couple of days later he was well and trully stuck, my waters had completely gone and he was bum engaged and head and feet up by my ribs. (worse type for turning).

Anyway that probably doesn't help at all, but I do think that it is quite possible that he moved that day.

Fingers crossed that baby is still head down.

Well no leaking - yet?

Oh man I don't know what to think... usually I can feel my tummy and go, "yeap, little bum, the back, feet over there...." but I can't tell today???

Whoops, sorry I didn't mean to scare you! Kneeling breech babies are very rare! But yeah, think positive, even though I had a c-secion everything went really smoothly and I feel I had a really good experience. Even if your baby has turned breech, they might be able to turn them around.

Hey Wendz, all the best with baby my MW thought Ashlee had turned at around 39ish weeks, and sent me for a scan. She fully freaked me out as she was feeling my belly, and said 'OH NO! I think she might be breech!' and that scared me! I got in for my scan that day and she had me worried for nothing because Ashlee was still head down.

Do you think your MW would be nice enough to send you in for a scan just for peace of mind?

When I saw my midwife and she suspected that Sam was breech she went and got another midwife to check me too. They both decided it would be best if I had a scan. I was sent for one the very next morning so I had plenty of time (2.5 weeks) to prepare myself for what was going to happen.

I too have noticed an ease off my bladder and I don't need to go to the bathroom anywhere near as much as I normally do. I think baby has definately moved position, but I just don't know which way?

I think I am just going to try wait it out until my appt next week. Hopefully with the long weekend coming up it will go by quickly.

Thanks bobby. I will keep that in mind. I just have to be prepared for anything I suppose.

I think I might try lay down when I get home and have a little feel of my tummy. I am getting ALOT of movements right down low and Im worried they are little feet.

If I am still concerned tomorrow, do you think I should just text my midwife to let her know my concerns so she can decide if she wants to see me earlier than my next appt? I mean, I could be completely wrong and I don't want to waste her time..

Better to let her know than worry all weekend about it.
I could feel kicks everywhere and ones that felt down low, but his feet where most definitely up by his head, he was sucking his toes 2 mins after being born and at one of my scans....so cute. I think what I could feel down low must have been knees or elbows or hands or god knows what, sometimes i could have sworn there were 5 babies in there.

My baby was breech for most of my pregnancy until about 36 weeks, when she turned. I could definately feel her turning. Hoewever, about a week before I was due she turned breech again. During labour my MW gave me some tablets to put under my tongue (to get her to turn), and she turned yet again before beng born!

Actually I was given that option even though Spencer was my first, but strongly advised not to take it. In hindsight he had a tiny head and was only 6lb 2 so I probably could have done it. (vaginal birth that is)
