That is so cool Emma. YAY!
I just had an eight week scan today and it was very exciting. Baby is in the right place (wanted to rule out ectopic) and we heard its heart beating!
How many weeks is the baby in your scan picture?

What a teeny-wee bubs! How cool. I'm 12 weeks now, but haven't had a scan yet, and next midwife appointment in a fortnight we listen to baby's heartbeat... but no scan arranged... I think I was told to expect one at round 20 weeks! I've gone public for my LMC - Independent Midwife, and I live in the Manawatu. I know someone in Auckland who had her first scan at 12 weeks, and most people expect that I'd have one now... do the services you receive vary greatly depending on which part of NZ you live in? I'll ask my Midwife wassup with my scan booking, but am getting the impression that services in Auckland/Waikato are a lot more onto-it.

I haven't got a history of problems well, not really - I had a dating scan but I had to pay for that, then my 12 week scan which I was assured was routine, and my 20 week one. The next one is not 'routine' but we are happy to pay the gap fee ($30)... only two more weeks to go !! |

I had a nuchal translucency scan at 12 weeks because there is a history of downs syndrome in my family and then a 20 week scan.
