Following Stacey's lead, i am thinking of getting some exercise equipment, pretty much as the only exercise I am getting, is wlking up and down stair to my classroom.

So, what exercise equipment have you actualy used, and what turned out to be an expensive clothing rack?

The problem with most of the exercise equipment that I've bought is that I only use it a few times before it gets put under a bed or in a cupboard somewhere and forgotten.

What I do use is actually quite cheap (pity I spent all that money on other stuff)

* 2x 3kg & 2x 7kg free weights
* an exercise ball
* a hula hoop (don't laugh - this is great fun and fantastic cardio exercise targetting your core)
* DVD Denise Austin "burn your female fat zones"
* A yoga mat

I use my free weights and exercise balls when following the DVD instruction. The hula hoop is a bit of fun but also a great exercise tool (you can download exercise regimes using hula hoops off - just google it).

I also set myself a goal of doing a couple of hundred star jumps per day (it's actually pretty easy).

I also want to get an advanced yoga book or DVD. I used to do yoga regularly but haven't been to the classes for awhile and now want to do it from home.

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread, I really like the steppers/ air walkers ...not sure of their exact name but your legs kinda sway in a walking/stepping motion and your arms get a workout too?

My most used item - don't laugh - is a Richard Simmons DVD. I love it. 'Disco sweat'. It is so tacky, but always makes me laugh and the music is great!!

We have a rowing machine in the spare room that was used once and is now an expensive storage rack!!

You and me both with the lack of exercise. We could alway bundle the kids in the prams and go for a walk at night??

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

We've got a crosstrainer at home which we spent a fair chunk on but gets reasonably decent use, and gets me a good cardio workout with both my arms and legs going at the same time. It lives in our lounge at the moment and I find it heaps easier to exercise watching something on TV anyway

I've got a cross trainer, treadmill (my baby lol), swiss ball and free weights. My treadmill definitely gets the most use but it was also the most expensive. But I use my free weights every 2nd day (most of the time) too and I just buy heavier ones as I need them.
