    Posted: 07 April 2008 at 10:19am
I'm 35 weeks today. I'm probably being completely paranoid but I'm sure my baby hasn't been moving much in the last 12 hours.
Every night when I go to bed she usually moves around for about an hour before I go to sleep. But she didn't do that last night and I haven't had much movement this morning.

I have had some movement, but it feels different somehow. I can hardly feel the movements but have felt something going on in there maybe 3 times this morning but its definitely not as strong as usual.

So when do you worry and when do you call your midwife? I don't want to call her and waste her time and mine when I'm sure there's nothing wrong.
Maybe its because bubs is running out of room? so the movements are as strong all of a sudden or she might have even changed position.

Oh I really don't know, what do you think I should do?

If you are worried I would call your mw - it is easy for them to put a monitor on and see what is happening... Would put your mind at ease as well...

Daniel did this to me lots!

Standard answer from the MW was to drink 2 glasses of very cold water and lie down and count movements. If I didn't get 10 movements by mid afternoon she said to give her a call back and get monitored.

I would just call my MW Thats what they are there for hun. If your worried definitly call her she can put your mind at ease, or if she feels she needs to see you then she will, and check baby is ok.

Its probably that baby is running out of room, Ive read that they move less and the movements are more like sharp prods..

Well I've rung my MW and she wants me to go in for a ctg. I bet you once I get there bub will start moving heaps, typical isn't it, but at least it will put my mind at ease.

I'll let you know how I get on

I was gonna say to ring your midwife too.
I think to many of us don't want to say anything when we are pregnant for fear of looking silly. The midwife is working for us, so no questions are too small or to big, that is what they are there for.
I figure if it eases your worry then it was worth asking about, no matter the reason.

I had that once with my Daughter, I completely freaked out and went to the docs. They listened to the hard beat and she was fine. It was because her back was facing my tummy and all her kicks were inside into my organs.

Hope all my mumble makes sense. But if you are worried it is best that you talk to your midwife.

GOOD LUCK and I am sure all is well.

i went through this last week. I could feel him moving ever so slightly, but he didnt perform during the day like he usually did. and i remember someone saying that if theres less movements then baby might not be well. so i figured if hes not active he might be ill....

anyway, rung the midwife and she asked me to come in for a ctg. when i got there she said that sure enough he will probably move for her, as most babies do.. and sure enough he did! so i felt a bit better that shes used to it. better to be safe than sorry!

I'm sure everything will be fine but good luck anyway - it never hurts to check to be sure.

I've been down to the hospital and monitored for 30 mins. everything was fine as I expected it would be, but I'm really glad I went. And my MW said that I done the right thing by calling her and to call her if it happens again. So I feel so much better as I thought I was wasting her time.

She did say that the baby is fully engaged and she wouldn't be surprised if the baby is getting ready to be born. She said often the movements do slow down just before labour.
So now I'm feeling really overwhelmed, I've ben complaining for weeks about how I want this baby out but now that its all getting so close, I'm getting a little nervous.

I'm glad that baby is OK and how exciting that it may not be too much longer for you. Sounds like you have a good midwife too for encouraging you to call her with any concerns

Glad everything is OK mel
With hannah, she was fully engaged from 36 weeks and the mw told me to expect her any time...
She came a whole day early!
So just relax and enjoy the last few weeks you have with just your gorgeous wee girl before bubs comes

Thanks Charly, don't you just hate the unknowing. I hate how I have no idea when my baby will come. Ad now that she's said that I feel like I'm waiting.
I will have to find a way to just relax and forget about it until the time comes
