Any tips or suggestions to get Tom drinking water. He flattly refuses!
I have tried, 2 different sipper cups, a normal cup, a bottle, a teaspoon.

He will drink milk out of a cup, a bottle or a teaspoon. I think the sipper cups we have require a different suck to what he is used to as he just chews them.

I have tried giving him a spon of custard then a spoon of water..nup!

Whenever water gets in his mouth he just spits it straight back out!

he will suck ice cubes on a hot day so I am not concrned about dehydration. But I just think with solids and formula as his diet instead of breastmilk he should be looking at a bit of water.

 Any ideas?

Daniel was the same until recently, we give him prune juice in water (and the weird kid loves the taste) and we have been diluting it more and more until now he just drinks the water plain at long last

Thats what I was thinking of doing. He hasnt got teeth so I dont think I have to worry too much about sugar at this stage.

Have you tried him on those juice boxes you can get for little people? Cooper loves them, has half with his lunch. I just pour it into his bottle with the handle things and he drinks it quite happily. He likes water too though...

i think they all just spit it out to start with... the improtant thing is to get him used to it at that age. i always left a cup on the high chair tray while feeding the boys and they would pick it up and play with it and drink then spit... then one day they just got the hang of it...

Thats what I did with mine too. Maya would happily drink water from about 5 mths from a sippy cup. The gremlins flatly refused to drink anything except milk from a bottle till they were 9 1/2 months and got their mitts on Isla's TT bottle with the straw and all of a sudden they started guzzling water. I did try them on diluted juice when they were younger but they weren't interested in that either, as far as they were concerned, the only liquid worth having was milk/formula and it had to come from a baby bottle with a teat.

I have trouble getting Jack to drink water as well. Sometimes he will drink from a cup, often tries to drink the bath water , but the most effective is an H2Go bottle!
