Firstly, I'm wondering whether taller women have an easier pregnancy in terms of carrying the baby? Or is it all much of a muchness? I'm 1.8metres tall and wondering if I'll be a little more comfortable than my 5 ft nothing friend.

And secondly, have you all seen this website? It is incredible. Embrace those stretchmarks! Not safe for work though...

Hey Jess,
I am over 6ft and had an easy pregnancy... I didn;t feel that big and carried a 9lb baby pretty easily. Even though I was 9 days overdue I was not uncomfy, just impatient...!

Not too sure if this is becuase of my heigh, but could have been something to do with it!

Who knows re: the tall thing... I'm 1.75m tall, and really thought I'd be carrying more 'internally', but the bump is definitely out there! I think towards the end, there might be more space left over for my lungs etc than if I was shorter, but whilst I have seen my shorter friends look huge by the end, I don't know if I will be any more 'comfortable' than them!

Sorry - my answer is no help at all! Lol

i am short...5f4...i had problems but mostly not related to height..i didnt have many kicks etc in ribs but i also had a posterier baby..he was 56cm though and came out all curled up as there was no room so maybe if you are longer he/she would have more room to stretch out:)

Hmmmm, I don't know. I'm not overly tall but not short either (around 174cm I think?) and somehow managed to fit 14lb of gremlin in there, I think what matters the most is how long your midsection is coz if you have long legs and a short midsection then there wouldn't be as much room for baby? I have no idea, just speculating!

I do know that I have good childbearing hips

Im short 165cm (5ft4) and I have short legs AND a short midsection. My bump popped straight out the front. You couldnt tell I was preggers from the back. I popped early too. I guessed there wasnt anywhere to go but out.

I still laugh when we say "all out the front" coz we'd look bloody silly if it poked out the back....Doesnt English have funny sayings.

I'm 5 ft (bang on) and had a really easy pregnancy. I got the usual symptoms - tiredness, MS etc - but that's to be expected and most of the time I felt fabulous.

Like NZPiper I popped out almost immediately. I had to announce my pregnancy to my work colleagues at 8 weeks as people had already started asking my friends if I was pregnant (it was that obvious!). Also like NZPiper you couldn't tell I was pregnant from the back and the rest of my body stayed small during my pregnancy (except my boobs and belly).

Funnily enough after the event the childbirth educator that did my AN classes admitted that she thought I would have a horrid birth and end up with major intervention but other than a wee puff on the gas during transition (which didn't help anyway) I had a completely natural drug free birth too.

RE: website - hmmmm, I must admit I can't see me embracing my stratch marks anytime soon. Although the truth is they're not the worst part, what I hate is that no matter how small I get I still have the baggy loose skin around my belly.

I dunno ay, I'm pretty tall with a long body and I found it really taxing on my body. I was really uncomfortable, especially towards the end, had lots of back pain and just generally my body was over it. My boy was 9lb 3oz born... here's a belly pic at 39 weeks!

I am 5.3 and had an easy pregnancy, didnt feel uncomfy at any stage. I grew all over and you couldnt tell I was pregnant untill 30 weeks I think!! So I dont know if Height has any thing to do with it at all.

I'm 5ft(just) and managed to carry comfortably (or as comfortable as a pregnant woman gets) through 2 pregnancies. Didn't have small babies either - the last was 9pound 6 Was definately all out in front - a long way out!
With my first they were worried that me being short there could be complications with the birth so I had to travel an hour to the hospital (instead of 5 minutes to the birthing unit) Luckily jad no problems and was only there for 2 hours.

Im half an inch under 6ft, and i had no problems related to my height, from about 2weeks before my due date to right up until i gave birth (9days over) i had people thinking i still had a couple of months to go!
I had the tiniest bump and carried very deep obviously because Eden was 9pnd 11oz!

the only thing that was possibly height related was my feet swelled hugely!

Im 6ft and have a longish midsection - I still poked way out - all the way through the first pregnancy people kept asking if I had twins - but was just one big boy - 8lb 3oz. Preggy was okay until last couple of months when it was uncomfortable - due to size of belly?!?

I think everyone is different.....probably just as well!
