Topic: Songs to sing Posted: 29 March 2006 at 10:22am |
I am looking for some more songs to sing/hum to my 3 1/2 month old. I am having a mental block( must be baby brain still, ha ha)and have been thrashing "Wheels on the bus", "Old McDonald", and loads of nursery rhymes.
Any songs would be great! or if there are any websites?
Cheers!
Alisha

When I was nannying in the UK my youngest little one LOVED "there was an old lady who swallowed a fly...." you kinda do the actions of whatever insect or animal you're singing about - run your fingertips all round their tummy for the spider and the fly, tickle them for the cat and horse etc, maybe make the noises..... Twinkle Twinkle, Baa Baa Darkly Pigmented Sheep , You are my sunshine..... there's loads of them!!

1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive. Try going to your local library and see if they have some cassette tapes or CDs that have childrens songs on them. I have just been to the library and got some for Xanda and then I taped them onto my own tapes so that we can listen to them in the car.

everybody clap
everybody sing, lalalalalaaaa
bow to your partner,
then you turn around
hands in the air
rockabye bear
bear is now asleep
shhhh shhhhh shhhhh
bear is no asleep
shhh shhh shhhh
And just do actions to go with the verses. This song sticks in my head constantly

Alyssa loves a song called jumping jack. And that gets stuck in my head too and we jump around like idiots.
Were jumping around like jumping jack
jumping forward
and jumping back
jump to the left and to the right
now we all jump togeather with all of our might
were jumping up down up down
a funny way to turn around
down up down up
jumping up and down
everbody smiles as we go by
jack where did you learn to jump so high
were jumping jacks jumping jacks
jumping forward and jumping back
Jack loves to laugh he loves to sing
boys and girls wont you join in
then we just sing it over and over again
it gets stuck in my head too

caitlyns favourite song is rainbow collection,i always sing to her before bed and sometimes just sing the first thing that pops into my head eg the other night i was singing all saints "never ever"
i got her a cd from mainly music that uses her name in the songs (cheesy american songs) "whats ur favourite colour caitlyn?" etc...cant seem to find it tho...what a pity

we have those love to sing dvds and cds and kobe loves them. That lion hunt drives me crazy though. He is just started doing actions and looks so cute. Wiggles (or diddles as he calls them) are a big fav at the moment hot potato and that joannie works with one hammer etc...
