Topic: Maternity Clothes Posted: 24 April 2008 at 5:13pm |
Hi - I'm going ona shopping trip to Auckalnd next weekend andf would be really interested in the best places to fins and buy maternity clothing. I don't want to shop at boutique type places, just run of the mill shops - like Mothercare (in the UK). Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi HCR1979
Welcome aboard.
Pumpkin Patch and JK Kids both have maternity clothes and are in numerous places around Auckland. I'm find that these are really comfy and not too expensive.
They also have stores in Dressmart in Onehunga - outlet store shopping centre.
There is EGG in Newmarket - a bit more upmarket and KMart Department store has a range of maternity clothes and I saw that someone had said that Jeans West (I think or it may of been Just Jeans) were now carrying maternity jeans.
Hope this helps

Try egg maternity, I find their clothers really good and not to pricey.
Not sure of locations in Auckland but try their website or maybe yellow pages?

I think Max now have a maternity range too and often clothing stores like glassons and ezibuy have pants and skirts with stretchy fabric fold over waist bands.

I'd second checking out the outlet stores for pumpkin patch and JK, I got a lot of mine from there.
Egg items I found to be a little more expensive but worth the investment especially if you know they will be reused for a second pregnancy.

Oh to be able to fit clothes from those shops! Well, at least Kmart and Egg have a bigger range.

awww I'd love to have been able to get some Mothercare maternity clothes
I got most of mine from Trade Me. I figured that the clothes are really only worn for about 4-5 months. All the stuff I got was still in great condition.

I got mine from Kmart, Trademe, JK (at Dressmart) and I also got quite a few tops from Warehouse, I just brought their Garage range and brough bigger sizes, ended up being more cost effective. Also the Warehouse's Active range have really got pants, I got a few of their "non" looking trackpants. Really good and comfy.

So far, besides the lovely tops I was lucky enough to be loaned by a family member, I've bought some nice stuff from our local Pumpkin Patch outlet store, JK and K-mart.
Good luck - def don't have the range the UK has - I miss H&M, Next, M&S, Mothercare, Dorothy Perkins!!

I've bought most of my gear from Glassons and Shanton which is where I usually get my essentials. Fashion at the moment seems to be lots of long baggy tops which is perfect for us. I wear a belly belt for my jeans and got my trousers from Warehouse as they have lots of elastic waste.
Maternity shops tend to be almost twice the price and often not conductive to wearing after.

I would try Trade Me for cheap Maternity Clothes, Ive got heaps of there! I also got some things from Pumpkin Patch which are not to costly.
EGG is good, but they are very expensive(Like $90 just for a top like) I got some great EGG stuff off Trade Me for wayyy cheaper than you can buy it for in the shop.

I have just been loaned a pair of P Patch jeans, which I think will be pretty much all I wear for the next 8 weeks! SO SO comfy around the tummy. I have a pair of K-Mart jeans, but they are no way near as comfortable

I've got PP jeans, but I've heard the Max ones are good as well. I've got most tops off TM. SmartyPants in Ponsonby has great quality 2nd hand gear. Supre (in Newmarket) has good tops that double as preggy tops.
