Hi
I have a question regarding vitamins and am just wondering what other people are doing/taking while pregnant.
I have been taking Elevit tablets but have just been told by someone that they contain your daily intake of Vitamin A. Vitamin A is the vitamin you shouldn't take more than the recommended dose of and it is contained in other foods. If you are already taking the daily dose in the Elevit tablets then do you think that the extra you are getting in normal food is putting you at risk? Am wondering if I should stop taking those tablets.

Hi Katie,
I am taking Elevit as well, and after a mild panic, I have grabbed the box and it doesn't have vit A listed on there unless it is also known as Nicotinamide?
There is a microgenics one that contains vit A which I took earlier on but not anymore since I found out (I am not pregnant yet anyway, so no big concern).

Hi Sarah Beth
You are much more on to it than me! I didn't even check the box before doing a panic!!!! Very silly!
Does anyone know if Nicotinamide is also known as Vitamin A?

Sarah Beth is correct, nicotinamide is *not* Vit A... so you can rest easy I'm still taking Elevit at this stage of my pregnancy as I have found it helps me feel a *little* less exhausted.

Does anyone take Prenatal Care made by Twin Lab? It has the same amount of folic acid as elevit plus the extra vitamins.

I took elevit and i think it shoudl be safe or else it couldnt be marketed as a pregnancy vitamin surely? Only reason I stopped was cos it made me feel sick (reallllyyyy nauseaous) which apparently it does to some people but i would not be worried, i would carry on taking it if I were you!
