Had the pleasure of having a coffee with a fellow oh babyer at frolic (on manukau road) today and wanted to say how great i thought it was.

My kids were greeted at the door and treated almost like they were the paying guests... the fluffies for the kids were a decent size and came with marshmallows. they had a kids menu but i didnt really read it as they had already eaten...

the kids were entertained by the toys that were kept on the totally enclosed back porch where we sat so i didnt have to keep getting up and interrupting my conversation to find my kids.

It was great!!!

Wet blanket here.....

Frolic used to be our regular cafe, and it was fantastic. Great area out the back for the kids, with toys and books, wee table and rocking horse thing. Always been a bit on the pricey side, but worth it.

We've now stopped going (and we would go every weekend without fail). The last few times we went at least one of us had our meal forgotten, the coffee came at the end of the meal after at least two reminders on two separate occasions, and they bought out Joshua's food and fluffy after DP and I had already had our food sitting in front of us for a good 10 mins.

Used to be great, now not so much.

Had a lovely time today BUT there were lots of kids and Elle was teething so got pretty upset. She never seems very happy there even though the space appears kid friendly. Our coffees took an age too (one was forgotten) but Elle did get 2 fluffies by mistake!

If you are looking for a child friendly place in Onehunga, then The Library Cafe is awesome. Totally kid-centric as opposed to kid-friendly. Outside play area, as well as an inside one with blackboards, books, toys, bean bags etc etc. They have 15 highchairs, sippy cups and plastic beakers as well as glasses for water, excellent kids platters, most food organic and nitrate free. Also, it has a whole room FULL of adult books (ie, a library), which kiddies don't go in. So you can even go there without kids and have a wonderful time.

We love it there!

Edited to add: The Library Cafe is NOT at the Onehunga Library, but on Princes Street, next to the RSA.
