Topic: when did you show? Posted: 03 April 2006 at 5:18pm |
I am almost 15 weeks and i notice in the last week or so I have gotten sooooo much bigger around the wasit and bum! I dont have a bump really i just feel like there is lots stuffed into my tummy and I just look fat. But I am getting bigger by the second!!
I saw a girl i know today who has always been about the same build as me and she is 3 months pregnant and she hasnt put on a gram! not a gram! and i was like WHAT? Thats unfair? And it started me thinking about whether I should be seeing a difference in my body by now...? And when I should start looking pregnant?
I know it's an individual thing, I understand that, but I was wondering when other people started to show? as a point of reference, just out of interest????

It depended on what I wore and how I stood as to whether you could tell that I was starting to show or not... but this is how I looked at January 15th this year:

Perhaps Mrs Frantic... you are carrying a girl? hehehe
You know what they say!! If you put on weight around your hips & bum... you are carrying a girl.
Not the same for everyone I know, but definately something to take your mind off your weight gain!!
The average weight gain is meant to be 1.5kg every four weeks if that helps yah!!
Don't fret darl, your midwife will weigh you each appt and if there are any concerns she will let you know.

Hey Jax - just seen your ticker!!! It's a girl!! Yay
Don't fret Mrs Frantic I've only put on 7kgs in total - but my midwife is not concerned - baby is growing well, and is, by measurements, gonna be a whopper!! Well, at least 8lb or more. I don't look pregnant from behind either. Baby is all out the front, and I still have visible hip bones. But everyone is different - enjoy it, and try not to worry

its funny that you say you havent gained much weight but bubs is still going to be a good size.... i have found so far, i gained HEAPS of weight in my first pregancy and had a 6lb 2oz girl, second pregnacy i gained less but was in the "normal" weight gain and had a bigger baby 7lb 3oz. so far this pregnancy i am heading towards a smaller weight gain (as to where i was at previous pregnancies... 3 kg all up so far) will be interesting to see if this baby is even bigger.
i do know though that each subsequent baby in general is bigger

with jake i think it was about 20 weeks, with taine, it was about 18. Generally I don't get too big with my pregnancies though.

I just looked like I had a bit of a beer belly from about 17 weeks and then at around 23 weeks it started actually looking 'bumpy', people were still too scared to ask if I was preggo tho! hehehehehehe

I've put on more weight than I'm happy with (darn mcdonalds and butter chicken....now banned from my house!)...I've sort of got a bump but I can also kind of suck it in so it's not a really loverly bump like other girls have...
My prob is that I had a loverly layer of fat on the tummy (always seems to be where I gain it!) following our cruise and christmas...I never had a chance to lose it so of course that's also sitting there...*sigh*
Under clothes I sort of look bump like though to that's okish...
