Topic: Warning TMI Bowels Posted: 07 May 2008 at 11:07pm |
I did warn you
I'm not sure if my bowels are dodgy or if it is because I have endo on them. But it really hurts when I need to pass wind, just before I do (like its travelling through me) is when it hurts the most. Also when I do number two's it can often hurt to do them.
Any advice or things to do???

Any issues with haemorrhoids or would it be worth getting that checked out? Sorry to hear you're having this kind of trouble, poor DH is having a bit of a problem with it atm too.

I had Endo on my bowel (removed at the last surgery) but what you are explaining sounds very similar to the pain i would have in that region! Big Hugs - I know it isn't nice at all is it!

I have irritable bowel and the same kind of thing happens to me. I often dread going to the toilet.

I have stupid bowels too and totally associate with your pain! Watch what you eat...some things help....some dont. Peppermint tea is nice on upset bowels and gas!

*Puts hand up* Me too! I don't have endo but I do have IBS and I've been getting really awful gas pains lately. The worst thing I find is that they seem to come on quite awhile before its actually ready to pass too
I find with going no.2's I start feeling quite nauseous beforehand and then a lot of pain going, and afterpains, like my bowel spasms afterwards.
I've heard aloe vera juice and charcoal tablets can be helpful with the gas and cramping but I'm yet to try either.

oh and heat helps! I used to put a towel on the oilfin heater and then wrap that around my lower tummy.
I second what caramel says about the nausea before hand. Thankfully my problems are in remission at the moment! Flared up after Tom but got better when I fell pregnant in March....yay for pregnancy hormones huh!

I don't have an haemorrhoids issues (well i'm pretty sure i don't). But I do have some peppermint tes in my house somewhere so I might give that a go.
I'm going to the dr with Josh tomorrow so I might as him then if he thinks it is the endo or something else.

IBS here too! Same thing happens. Do you notice it happening after eating particular foods? I get it after mince, sauces, gravies, dairy, cereal, white bread etc.

i had endo on my bowel and wonder if it's come back again....get horrible cramp pains before #2's, then it can be a struggle to get it out (hemmies don't help the situation!) and often a fart can be painful as it gears itself to come out...or it will get to the point of coming out, and then decide it doesn't want to and go back the other way
hehe so much TMI

I have that too. It is in the lower left part of my colon...called the sigmoid colon. I've had it examined thoroughly via laps and colonoscopy and there is absolutely NOTHING there. In my case it is a funny nerve. I seem to hold my pelvis funny when stressed and hence you could say it is the point where I carry m my stress. It used to hurt 24/7 for a few years and now it mainly just hurts when something moves through my bowel.
So..in short, it may or may not be endo. I have it but don't have endo.

I was naughty and googles sigmoid colon - does sound about right. Hopefully I get pregnant at the end of this year and then I can have my op and find out what is going on in there.

Becks I'm having the same trouble but I know it's endo cause (a) it's cyclic and (b) it's worse when I'm off the pill. I don't really know anything that helps other than no gluten and high fruit & veg. But I don't find that helps the constipation or painful wind at all, it just means that nauseousness isn't added to the mix
