Topic: We survived Posted: 12 May 2008 at 10:08pm |
Our first day without Mummy!
Just wanted to say hello to all the oh babyites, you have kept my DW sane during the last 3.5 months and now that she has gone reluctantly back to the paid workforce and I have taken on the role of chief bottle washer and nappy changer I am hoping you lovely ladies will do the same for me
Anyway if you see this newbie around the boards, say hello (especially since I need to chat to log up 100 posts to get into the photo gallery)

Lets just say I survived better than Mummy did! She is going to ruin my routines since she runs home and grabs Isabelle and wont let her go lol

Awww, poor thing I remember when I first had to start leaving Maya at daycare, it was messy - and I mean me not her lol, she couldn't have cared less!
But at least your DW knows that Isabelle is in the best possible hands...

aww what lovely words
Glad you guys had a good day.
My only advice from one working Mum to another would be to make sure each moment they have together (and you all as a family) is quality time, the mundane stuff like dishes and washing can wait until Isabelle is tucked up for the night. That's how I get through

Well done on today.
I'd be interested to see or hear if you eventually start suffering from baby brain like us mums do occasionally???
Enjoy your time with your gorgy girl.

Maya - he definately coped better than I did!
Luckily work kept me busy so It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be ... but when I walked in the door and saw her I realised how bad I did miss her! (I even ruined Daddies self settling routine as I popped her in the sling and wouldnt let him near her lol)

Woohoo Superdaddy!! Well done.
My DH has been looking after our wee girl during the day for 20 months now (since she was 5mo) and he still tries to tell me that I ruin his routines when I'm home
Lilfatty, This is definitely harder on you than anyone else but you can be proud knowing that you and Superdaddy are doing what's best for your family atm.
You get used to it tho and there are perks, maybe you could try and organise to go out for lunch with your girlfriends during your lunch break within the next couple of weeks, it's amazing how nice a liesurely lunch (and a glass or two of wine) is since you probably haven't had a leisurely lunch in a few months.

Hi SuperDaddy . Glad day 1 went well for you all (even if lilfatty did "ruin" your self settling routine! lol).
There's always lots of help & advice available right here should you ever need it. Hope you enjoy the rest of your first week

Yay!! Well done for surviving day 1 - both of you!!
We will certainly do our best to support you and keep you sane - we are always here!! Its a good place to ask those "slightly dumb questions" that you feel you should know the answer to, but just dont!!
Hope you have fun - when are you starting swimming?

Yay for Superdaddy! My husband would take his hat off to you.
I have found OB to be fantastic also...great support and great advise!
What area do you work in lilfatty? I could help fill that lunch break for you
