By the looks of my weird chart i still havent ovulated in about a year so my specialist has me doing blood tests but said that if they were negative he was going to put me on clomiphine. the only thing i know of it is from my sister who said she put on weight and got really bad hot flushes. what are everybody elses experience of it and how succesful have people found it?

Hi there Monikah,

Yeah that's right, they usually give you Provera to bring on AF if you have absent/very long cycles.

It is totally an individual thing to how well you will respond to Clomid, usually I think they prescribe you Clomid for days 2-6, days 3-7 or days 5-9 of your cycle, depending on how long your cycles normally are.
For ovulation, from what I've been told/read etc, you can ovulate anywhere from day 11 to day 20 of your cycle.

My gynae has me on days 2-6, with Provera to bring on AF (usually 10-12 days of Provera then AF arrives within 3 days of the last pill).

Hope that helps!

Good luck

awesome. you guys are legends. lol. i'd never figure this out otherwise. my bloods will be done on the 20th so fingures crossed i can avoid it, though with no actual AF in a year i doubt it. lol

Hi Monikah
This cycle is my 3rd round of clomiphene. The first two I had 50mg and didn't have any major side effects - maybe a little emotional, but that could equally well just be the stress of it all. This time I've had 100mg, and no side effects at all - if anything, I've been unusually happy
It's been days 2-6 for me every time; I normally have a 29 or 30 day cycle. We're having the clomiphene as part of IUI, cos I'm ancient (though still seem to be ovulating regulary - just want to make sure there's more than one egg at insemination time) and DH has a low sperm count.
Did you know there's a 'clomid pill poppers' thread inthe infertility column?
Good luck
