QuoteReplyTopic: Magnetic Underlay Anyone? Posted: 30 May 2008 at 3:50pm
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has a magnetic underlay on their bed? I have one and I have read that you aren't supposed to use it while pregnant but does anyone have any opinions on whether it would affect TTC?
DH swears by it and doesn't want to take it off the bed!
It says on the TV ads not to use (or is it consult a doctor?) during pregnancy.
Maybe the magnectic forces can effect TTC'ing. On another forum, a lady mentioned her partner used a laptop...and she read guys shouldn't put them on lap during ttc'ing....so he stopped, and she got preg her next cycle. They had been trying for a few months previous.
I took mine off, couldn't wait to put it back on after Jack was born though!
Yeah laptops shouldn't be used on laps for women or men, I stopped doing this and we conceived straight away. It can apparently affect both sperm and ovulation. Don't know if its true but it didn't do me any harm to try one theory.
the laptop thing is because they produce a lot of heat (I've almost burnt my legs from mine, seriously), you don't want to expose the boys or girls to too much heat (hence the no spa pools or sauna's).
I have taken the underlay off my side of the bed now but DH still has it on his. He wants scientific proof that it affects fertility before he will take it off for good
Perhaps contact a Fertility Specialist and ask what their opinion is on this. I'm sure with the number of people using their services, that this topic would have arisen at some stage.
Good luck :)
