bad things happen today, and I dont need anymore thank you very much.

1. I did my supermarket shopping on Sunday afternoon, and have just figured that I couldnt find a few things from the shop. I rang DH to check he hadnt put them away somewhere "obvious", and he doesnt remember seeing that bag at all. So somewhere between the checkout and home I have lost a bag full of shopping. I wouldnt care so much but it had my deodrant, a big bag of wipes (like $18!!!), soap powder and handsoap in it. Grrrrrrrr.

2. Our phone line was down all morning, (obviously back up now), but had to ring Telecom, and the guy spoke heavily accented english which was hard to hear / understand on my mobile (I dont get the greatest reception at home!) ....grrr... just ended up quite frustrated by the whole experience!!! On the upside - they have fixed it pretty quick!

3. Olis lovely little Bobux shoes have broken...the elastic over the top (fake laces) has come out of the hole. They were a gift and he has only been wearing for the last couple of months. Would have thought that for something so expensive, that the quality would have been better!

So thats my 3 things for the day....not tragic in the scheme of things, just frustrating and annoying (esp the shopping!!!)

Oli and I did just have a lovely 1.5 hour walk in the sunshine, where he slept most of it, so that was a least a good thing for the day!!

Glad number 2 worked itself out but in regards to number 1 and number 3 - call them!

Supermarkets end up with tonnes of stuff that people leave behind. I'd not be at all surprised if they have it at the store.

And Bobux has an interest in maintaining good quality. I am sure they'd do all they can to help you out. And if they can't, then they just cost themselves a whole bunch of money by disappointing an Ohbaby-er

Yep ring the supermarket it is possible that they have the bag there for you.

I have rung the supermarket....no joy. Looking more and more like someone has swiped it!!!

To make it worse - just realised that there was a tin of formula in there too!!!

Thats disappointing of the supermarket. I remember one time my mum couldn't find the bag of butter and milk that she'd bought. My dad claimed he hadn't seen it, so she rang the supermarket and they couldn't find it either, but they agreed to replace what was in it for her anyway. A couple of days later she opened the deep freeze and discovered my dad had put it in there because there was a bag of frozen veges in the top of the bag and he hadn't thought to look what else was in there. She cancelled the replacements from the supermarket!
But the point is, clearly it wasn't their fault, yet they were willing to replace the items. I wonder if thats the difference between a friendly small-town supermarket and a big city version
I hope you find it and the shoe gets fixed too!

Crap about the supermarket, crappier even that someone pinched it, you'd think if someone saw it with wipes and formula in it they'd have enough heart to realise that it was badly needed.

As for Telecom, you win some you lose some I guess, but I hope they gave you an account credit for the inconvenience.

And I agree with Nikki re: Bobux - I'm sure they would replace or repair it for you, esp as Ollie isn't walking yet so it's not like the shoes are getting a lot of wear and tear on them. I had to email them about something over the weekend and they were really helpful, their email is info@bobux.com.

Thanks for all the advise ladies, I have emailed Bobux, so just waiting to hear back from them.

To be honest, it makes me so mad to think that someone may have taken it out of my trolley. We work hard to earn our money, just like most other people, and that some low-life thinks that they can just grab our groceries.....grrrrrrrr!!

I figure that it was about $45-50 worth of stuff in the bag.

It was at Foodtown in Mt Eden - so if anyone else shops there, just keep your eye out.

Do you think it's worth sending them something in writing? I've found if you send places letters they sometimes respond more favourably coz it actually goes to the admin/managers rather than the bored old checkout superviser who really doesn't give a toss.

Yeah I buy my wipes in those big 240 bulk packs and they last us forever, think they are about $18, then with the formula at $23 as well.....it soons adds up.

DH reckons I just need to let it go. I did ring the local police station (mainly out of curiousity to see if it was something that was happening a lot at that supermarket...) talking of bored people answering the phone....he couldnt have sounded less interested if he tried. He must have been doing everything in his power not to laugh at me. Didnt make me feel any better when he was reading outloud what he was writing...."thinks groceries were stolen out of trolley...." I am sure he thought I was a loop-o!!

Oh gosh Sam.. that's a hefty amount of monetary goods to loose in one go Formula isn't the cheapest, but neither are those bulk packs of wipes (we buy the Huggies 80's and they last us 2 weeks - if Keziah's bum behaves LOL)

I would suggest ringing the Supermarket and asking to speak directly to the manager(screw the checkout supervisor pffffft, they don't give a rats arse majority of the time) of that branch so that he/she is aware that you have lost some goods and let them know what was in the bag and when you shopped so that they can keep an eye out for you.. sometimes these things turn up out of no-where (speaking from experience)

On the other hand, glad your phone line got fixed quickly and that Oli had a lovely nap while you were out walking It was a gorgeous day out there today.. spent alot of the day outside myself
