Does anyone have any advice about where to get cheap lamb? I love it and have seen yummy recipes for lamb in the crockpot, but can't find it anywhere less than $19.95/kg for cubed lamb.

Get chops maybe? Cubed lamb will always be more expensive as its the best cuts usually, and the extra work to cube it puts a higher margin on the product.

I do a yummy lamb hotpot in the crockpot using lamb chops.

We do have diced lamb sometimes, Willie gets it at the Mad Butcher but I have no idea what it costs him coz I stay out of the meat shopping.

Have to confess I'm lazy and hate chops (I hate any meat that takes work to eat) . Still, might have to put that to one side! I guess in the crockpot it ends up very tender and should come off the bone pretty easily (she says hopefully!)

Yeah it does come off the bone really easily. I hate chops too generally (except big, meaty pork shoulder chops *drool*) but Willie insists on buying them.

Chops are such a man thing. My Dad used to cook them everytime he cooked and they always ended up dry and stringy . I might have to try some crockpot ones and aim for them to be moist. Blardy budget.
