Possible engagement?
I know for the last 8 weeks I'd get sharp stabbing pains "down there". Usually accompanied by her wriggling around.
Hannah was engaged from 32 weeks, so would make sense.

Have you asked your mw?

No i havent asked my mw - i have my appointment next week, so will ask her then unless it gets worse before then. It feels 'tender' down there as well.

Iv'e been having sharp stabbing pains too, mainly if I have been sitting or lying down and its when I change positions to stand up. Then I have to wait  before I can walk and usually walk bent over for a few steps before it fades - most unpleasant!

I spoke to my MW last week and she didn't have a reason for it but said most of the women she had seen this week very very sore so its pretty commen I think.

Sorry not much help seeing I can't get any relief either

I got the tenderness with my second pregnancy and it almost felt like a bruised sort of feeling!
My MW told me that it was due to the extra blood flow around your vagina. Also, some women get varicose veins which can be quite tender. I happened to have a look down there when I was doing some 'maintenance' in preparation for labour and oh my goodness, it suddenly made sense! Everything gets all big and blue! Ignorance truly is bliss
(Thankfully it all returned to normal colour and shape-wise
after the swelling went down once he was born!)
Ooh and that stabbing cervix pain is no fun either! Late pregnancy is all about the glamour eh?

I have that too at the moment - Ive put it down to weight on pelvic muscles and cervix and baby movements. I also feel numb down there at times.....normal I guess.

I get stabbing pains which are related to the baby dancing (head down) on my cervix. Make me not look forward to labour. Am pretty confident they're cervix, not vaginal, as MW could bring them on when she was trying to open my cervix.

Chat to your MW, but it sounds like the joys of the third trimester!

at looking down there?! I will keep in my ignorant world, me thinks!
