Hi
I am new to this site thought it would be a good way to share thoughts. Have just found out i am 5 weeks preganant, am happy but also anxious to get through first 12 weeks.
Have started getting a slight brown mark when wiping myself after going to the toilet, anyone else experience this? spoke to specialist office they said not to worry unless it is accompanied by tummy & back pains or changes to red blood - don't have any of that but still worried.

Could be old blood from implantation and also some women get spotting when their period is due.

Congrats and welcome to ohbaby!

Hi and welcome! Yes I had that in the early stages and am still happily plodding along! As the doc said you only need to worry if you get pain or it turns red. Good luck!!

Thanks for all the support, am taking it easy today, keeping feet up etc - think it is all settling down anyway.

Look forward to discussing more in the future. Have first appointment with Specialist next week, was suppose to be about TTC but now it is for Pregnancy care since it took us nearly 2 years to get this far.

Welcome to Oh Baby. Everyone on this site is awesome and really helpful.

I had a little of that in early stages and was told by midwife that not to worry unless I had pain and red blood.

Welcome Mellybelly, I had teh opposite, lost of cramps but no color, but I am fine - I think that mostly you just need to look for pain AND color - just take things easy and relax for now!

Thanks for all the positive feedback, can anyone tell me how long their spotting/marking stayed for? Call me a worrier, but seeing it took us over 18 months to get this far I really want this to work. Still no colour and no cramps so am guessing that is a good sign.

I had spotting with this preg at 4.5weeks (the day after I found out), only about a teaspoon all up, and it only lasted a couple of hours. If I wasn't so obsessed with studying the toilet paper I might not have even noticed it at all lol.

Well here i go again with the worrying. All the 'marking' had cleared up the other week, but this morning i've noticed more. Again it is not red and no cramping has accompanied it either. Am taking it easy - guess that is all i can do. Have appointment on Friday (was suppose to be last week but was rescheduled) with the Specialist so maybe she can shed some light.

Enjoying hearing about everyones updates/progress. Gaye glad to hear all is well and maybe you have one baby in there who is good at hiding.
