Topic: Touchwood Cots Posted: 20 July 2008 at 10:08pm |
DH's parents want to buy us a cot and are looking at the Touchwood range. They are so expensive!! But the resale on TradeMe etc is really good, so we are thinking it's not so bad and might just let them get it for us.
Has anyone EVER seen Touchwood go on sale? I'd love to hold out and save them some money, but I suspect that they are always the full price.

We got our Touchwood cot through the winkalotts website and it was definitely cheaper than in the shops. Have to say that we are completely in love with it too. They are worth the money

Baby City has a touchwood cot which is exclusive to them - the chateau cot I think, it is cheaper than the other cots in their range ... I asked if it was any different to the villa cot and they told me no apart from the villa has a slightly different looking bar at the top, however I want to check with touchwood and make sure its not different in any other way and that the quality was the same.
Also, is it better to have the panel at the end or bars? I prefer the look of bars but dont know if one is better than the other for any reason!

We bought the Villa Panel and love it. Can't wait for our baby to arrive so we can use it
Ours came from OhBaby! shop as at the time it was the cheapest price I could find. I searched Ferrit to compare and then went through all the online websites to find the cheapest price (taking into account shipping costs too) - but only once we had selected which style cot we wanted. We ended up buying a sleepyhead mattress from Farmers during one of their sales.

Did you get a babycity voucher for 10% off in your bounty pack? I used mine the other day to buy a touchwood mattress and a nappy bag and found out that you get 10% off your total purchase, however many things you buy. I'm pretty sure you can order the cots through them too - maybe worth looking into, as 10% off goes a long way with that kind of purchase! We were fortunate cuz my parents bought us the meadow cot - they wanted it to be something new and nice for their grandchildren, so it'll definitely be something we keep in the family.
Oh, and LG - I was surprised too that it didn't come with a mattress. So when you're considering the cost of the cot you have to factor that in unfortunately To get a proper touchwood one, you have to spend at least $140. Though I'm sure any mattress would have been fine, I decided to go down this track because I know how much I love having a good mattress so I'd like the same for bubs
As for panel or bar - we chose panel because we thought it just looked nicer. The bars made me think of a jail!
