Topic: Waaaaaaaaaiting for IRD? Posted: 05 August 2008 at 8:42pm |
We put our tax returns in at about the last week of May. DH got his rebate, finally, last week. Mine...is still in the IRD office "being processed". But mine is "more important" (well, at least important) because I want my (our) WFF rebate!!
Anyone else still waiting? And geting impatient?

Yep and very impatient. They must keep back the ones that they owe money too.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I spoke to them last week about various things and they assured me that they would pay it in last night, and they didn't.... bugger we were counting on it too.

I had to ring and confirm my refund before it got paid to me but once I did, it was there within 2 days!
If you are going to ring tho, do it bang on 8am. Otherwise good luck getting through!

shame they're not so slow when it comes to getting the bills out -- I got mine for $1200 (between tax and student loan) about two weeks ago!!

I just checked my account and the money went in last night, so I'll forgive them that they were a day late! Now off to pay some bills

Well I just phoned them and apparently they startd processing my return on the 16 June and I have to allow 10 weeks for it to be processed - that takes it to the 25 August so hopefully not too much longer.
ETA - Whoops made a typo and actually meant August not June, so Nikki yeah it is 10 weeks not 10 days! Sorry...!

Man, I must have been lucky! I filed my IR3 tax return in the middle of April, as I had my income details finalised by then. And my tax refund was in my bank a/c two days after I submitted my return!!!
Even last year, it only took them 5 days to process my tax return.
But I always file my tax and gst returns online. I always find they get processed faster.

*bump* after 12 weeks I got sick of waiting so I sent them an email last week (I have online login) and got it back today saying that my return has finally been processed and apologising for the delay. My faith is restored!!

If you file your return on line or through a tax agent it will be processed faster than a paper return. and late payments they do pay interest on, just as they charge interest on people who pay late, not sure when it kicks in but they have someof my money that i am just accumulating interest on, they seem unkeen to refund it to me, and i've just had that argument too many times.
I have an agents login so i can check up on my own and clients accounts which makes life so much easier, no hastles phoning them!
