Topic: Daycare... *sigh* Posted: 19 May 2006 at 8:43am |
I'm only really posting about this because I've been up since shortly after hubby left for work at 7am (Friday/Saturday is my 'weekend' this time sadly), but am still 'tired' and couldn't fall back asleep. Anyway, I'm supposed to go drop in on one of the daycare centres I was interested in this morning, but a huge part of me is screaming "I DON'T WANNA !!" *sigh* It doesn't help that I have never been to the area that it's in before (Mairangi Bay), and my sense of direction sucks even if I've got a decent map to use. I have some shopping type things to do as well, and even though you ladies know just how much I love shopping, part of me is even resisting going out to do that - arrrrrrrrrgh
Anyway, whinge over, and will update later as to what happens I guess !

hang in there - it is hard to go visit the centres and even harder to think about leaving your baby but the more you visit the more you will get to know the staff and trust them so that by the time you finally do have to leave baby there, you will only have to get over your anxieties about being away - instead of wondering if the people there are good or if the facilities are ok - visiting without bubs is actually good cos you can sit back and watch how the staff interact with the kids and she whats on offer. good luck - i know it's hard finding the motivation to do thing alot at this stage and it doesn't get any better usually, but i hope your day improves and you feel better about things soon.
big hugs.

I know Mairangi Bay like the back of my hand, you should have said and I could have given you fail safe directions. Hope you go there OK and you are sorted!

LOL Thanks Sarah, but I found it in the end ! Didn't take me anywhere near as long as I thought it would, but reckon that was luck Am going to ask the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of Bird Enterprises Ltd how soon we can give them a deposit, as I was thrilled and loved the place to bits. It was a VERY entertaining visit too, they were having a 'teddy bears picnic' day
Am back to feeling properly exhausted now though, as I went to Resene to get some test pots of paint for my stencilling after that, then off to Glenfield to get some other bits of the nursery (Tigger hang-up thingy for the wall, and a mobile for the cot). Deviated only slightly from my original intentions and also bought a copy of Dr Seuss' "One Fish, Two Fish"

Hey Jax - Mairangi Bay is great - you'll be able to stop and have coffees by the beach and hang out with the other mum's at the very cool fenced off kiddies park opposite the Plunket near the beach. (We live the next Bay up - or down - I'm directionally challenged - in any case, the next Bay)
Glad to hear that the visit went well - and after reading your other entry about your day I hope you are getting some rest in!

I have the full Dr Seuss set...Maya can recite The Cat in the hat and Green Eggs and Ham
Glad you were impressed with the daycare! I'm sure Baby Bird will love it almost as much as home (hopefully not more as in Maya's case LMAO - she never wants to come home!)
PS. I thought YOU were the CFO of Bird Enterprises. Or are you just in charge of Supply Chain Management and Stock aquisition?
