Ok, so when i saw the mw a couple of weeks ago she was only 70% sure bubs was head down with an elbow above his head. the past two days every movement hurts like mad & i have been getting heaps of tightenings & strong powerful movements & basically feeling all tight right round my middle constantly & not even panadol helps much. Most the pains not crampy, but then i do get a few crampy ones. Could it be him trying to turn breech again that hurts? Or pre-labour?

I haven't had a baby turn so can't help you there.
Most I had happen was my first baby was facing up. I had to do these exercises to get her to turn face down.
The night she did, I was lying on the couch and it looked like she was about to burst out of my belly button.....like something out of alien....it was so funny. It didn't hurt at all.

But like I said....I haven't had one turn to breech from head down.

hmmmmm i'm not sure....my breech baby didn't turn.   perhaps give your MW a call and talk to her about it, even if it's just for re-assurance

Yeah I'd call your MW but when my little man moved/turned it hurt. There isn't much room left for moving by this stage.

It shouldn't hurt too much or too long, but sometimes they can have knees and elbows in the wrong place (for you!) when they turn and that's pretty uncomfortable. Check it over with your mw if you are feeling anxious about it. Does lying down and resting help?

DS turned from transverse breech to head down (although posterior the little bugger) at 34.5 weeks. It hurt like hell! My belly was a strange shape, I had arms, legs everything poking everywhere and I couldn't stand up straight or walk for a day. So yes it can hurt lol
