Does anyone know of any good baby name sites? I dont like the ones that you have to choose the first letters to search, but prefer a list that you can look through (like in a book), if such a site exists! Also want to know the meaning of names.

I had the link to a really cool one at home which shows you in a graph when the name was most popular I'll see if I've still got it and post it here for ya.

i would like to see one that has the pronounciation of the names as well, or at least the common prounounciation of them - some of the names in our baby books i can never make out!

yeah I find the same thing - all the sites I have seen are so cumbersome and slow, it takes ages to surf through and I always land up giving up before I even get to the end of "A"...

I brought a book recently that has 95,000 names in it and have been putting yellow post it notes in the pages where I have highlighted names |

I got sick of looking at them all so pleaded for help on here and it worked for me. I think the one I went to most though was babynames.com

try googling top 100 baby names - it will give you the most popular 100 names for each sex.. most of them we looked at and though "oh dear" lol, but might give some ideas... i still can't beleive that Elmo and Kermit were in the top 100 - surely that cannot be true!?
Depending on what types of names you want you could also try googling "international baby names" i cannot exactly remember the name of the site but there was one where they have names from all over the world, their pronunciationa dn the meaning - took us about 2 nights to get through the whole thing - with me reading out names to mike as he was watching TV, and him just going "nup, nup, nup, oh that's ok, nup, nup, nup,"

In the end i think i just posted on here. lol.

   Hey there Kellz,
Glad to hear that your scan went well and you are having a girl - that is very exciting! I have to wait one more day for my scan yippee - can't concentrate at work at the moment cause it's driving me nuts that I have to wait another day. Nice names that you have picked out too by the way.

he he Millie I was exactly teh same before the scan where we found out the sex - from about 2 weeks before I couldnt wait and the day before it was unbearable, I was so excited to find out if it was a boy or a girl!!!! Now i have another scan booked for tomorrow and its not quite as bad, I am not on teh edge of my seat, I guess cos I know what it is, but it will still be really nice to see bubs is doing well!
Good luck - are you hoping for any particular sex?
