Topic: Skin problem ...HELP! Posted: 20 October 2008 at 11:22am |
So I have this new problem with Zaara. She has these red dots on her tummy and nappy area! I took her to Docs a week and half ago and she said looks like Flee bite!! OK its possible she is getting them from Day care!
Just to be safe we had out house sprayed...flee bombed etc...washed all her linen with sensitive powder (just in case)....and she is still getting them. The thing is tho they have little pin dot head on them...if I wipe the nappy area (which I do each morning with water) they break and leave the red dot...so it looks like bites!
I took her to docs again a few days later and told them about the head...couldnt be bites if they have heads on them right? well the Doc said she could be allergic to some thing....I said Kiwi fruit juice may be (we started giving it to her due to her constipation)...any who he said its possible and told us to stop it...gave her some antihestimine (sp??) and we have been giving it to her...I washed all her cloths with sensitive powder etc...NOP no help! Took her to Docs again and she said its bite dispite the heads??!!
She is not bothered by them at all and is not scratching them or any thing...but it looks horrible! they dry up quickly but leave these horrible black spot on her....I HATE IT!!
Just to clarify! she has never been ellergic to any food or product...I have not changed her diet apart fr5om KF Juice (she had KF Juice when younger and never had an reaction)....and I have asked day care to see if they have some thing in their menu that has changed and nop!!
So what could it be?? Its not on her hands, legs, back or face...just on lower tummy, nappy area (bum inc)....
HELP!!

Ok, total non-mother here, but could the daycare have changed the wipes or similar that they use when changing nappies and her skin is reacting to the different ingredients??

Hmmmm...never asked about the wipes! might have to ask them!! She is on undies tho now...and just does her thing on the toilet and moves on....and she always waits till she is home to do Poo's so I doubt that they use wipes on her much! But I will ask!

oh T had something similar. its common to get around the age of 2 and eventually the immune system recognises it and it disappears all by itself. need to remember the name cos they look like bites but the have a head on them and can burst or be squeezed sometimes. its called meluscum and the doc was really unconcerned about it. he said they can be frozen off but he sees no point as it is just really painful for the kid and the body will fight it off in its own time. he said she could still go to creche and everything as the infection rate was really low and they are harmless anyway. when hers first appeared the were arounf her tum where her nappy sits and around the top inside of her legs so sounds like the same thing to me. i tried to find something on the internet for you but came up with virtually nothing but my spelling may be incorrect. ask the doctor about it maybe

Hmm...thanks for that Monikah...but Zaara's one doesnt really look like Pimples and the heads do burst but you cant realy see the stuff come out as they are soooo tiny like a pin dot!
Even tho some things seems like this but its def not warty and def not swollen like a pimple. Blurdy hell...I wonder what it is!??

Has she been sick at all recently?
My kids both get similar sounding spots occasionally after viral illnesses. Almost like an immune reaction.

the ones T had were really small to start with and didnt start turning into small pimple things till later - probably about 6 weeks. the doctor couldnt say exactly what they were at the first visit, just speculate but when they got the heads on them he confirmed it. our doctor specialises in paeds so if your doctor cant give you any answers maybe shop around if your still not happy with the bites answer, it may be a mild reaction to whatever bit her which is why they have heads

roksana if they are bites it could be a flea... they are tricky buggers. we had a bad infestation one summer and i had the house sprayed twice, flea bombed and a couple of treatments of flea powder too. and they still kept coming back. and they can hide in seams of clothes too....
but if you dont think they are bites then i would take her to a diff doc for a second opinion...
do they have a sandpit at her daycare? they would breed icky bugs.
