Topic: Freaking out here people..... Posted: 01 November 2008 at 11:26am |
Ok so I have lived in Wellington all my life and I am NEVERED bothered about windyat all, evern in the past when there have been houses collasping and tree falling over and being blown down the road but today.....OMGOsh I am crapping myself. the wind is diabolical, Alize cant even walk in it. It blew him across the grass and down on the ground where he couldnt get up . To make it worse I was holding his hand when it took him. He was laughing his little heart out thiniking it was funny as. Since I have been home it is so badd that my neighbour's tree just collasped and I can heard fire engines every 20 mins or so. Geez not nice here in Welly. I am scared to be home alone incase my house collaspes that is how much my house is getting blown and it is brick but boy is it shaking.
Alize is safely tucked up at mums and the girls are at marching...well at least I hope they are not getting blown around the hutt valley, I havent seen any marching girls go flying past yet lol
GAH.... freaking out!!!!

I live in Wellington as well, and my DH just called me to say that it is extremely windy in Kelburn where we live, and he saw a couple of trees being blown down.
I'm working today, so I am tucked away inside oblivious to it all....

Petone is where we were when Alize was blown away from me down at McEwen park. He is now at my mums in Jackson Street. I am in Taita and this weahter is seriously crazy windy. Very loud the wind is too...
Lady you are lucky to be tucked up at work. Wow trees faling out there too, I bet it is windy across the whole of Wellywood... Hoping it settles down soon.

I woke me up at 6.20 this morning and has got worse - we now have sideways rain flying past the house. We are in Ngiao/Khandallah but we went out to the Hutt to buy a BBQ (eternal optimist here hopes that summer will arrive soon )
Hope it get better tomorrow - DH suggested that we take the girls to see a bit of the Under 17 Worldcup at the Stadium. Will be such a shame if the weather is like this - no one will go .

It was pretty darn windy, wasn't it!? We took shelter in Westfield where we bumped into Leish and her family.
Glad Alize laughed in the face of that wind. Ash seems to think it's pretty fun too! But so scary!!

I can hear big booooms in Auckland (on the shore) and I'm not sure if it's a bit fireworks show somewhere (can't see any fireworks though) or a LOT of thunder.
Can anyone else tell me?
Hope you're all ok in Wellington, that wind sounds scary

We are in Onehunga, it's the fireworks at Alexander Park. Initially I thought it was thunder too...

I think there was some fireworks going on in Albany - we could hear the Waitakere Stadium ones from our place and the sky kept lighting up, wanted to go down there, but the weather is not the best to be sitting around.

It's all calm here now thankfully but man it was windy earlier. We're on top of a hill (surprise surprise ) and get both Northerlys and Southerlys full on.
Also if anyone lives in Churton Park and comes across a stray recycling bin please PM me. It's been awol since last Monday. Another disadvantage of living on top of a hill in Windy Welly
