Good for you Janine!!!! I have one more week of placements to go and I'm done (for now). It's soooo nice to finish something huh! you now need to go out and celebrate! BTW saw pics of Ayja today in downtown, but couldn't find Paris. I like the one you picked out.

WEll, i have 2 more weeks where i am on placement at the mo - which for those of you palmy ladies it's city doctors, then 2 weeks study leave and then state finals on the 18th of July - a full day of exams, from 9am till 11.30 then 1 till 3 i think.
I got my cv sent off on thursday to apply for a job at palmy hospital in either neonates or kids ward, so heres keeping fingers crossed that they have a place there and that none of my classmates have applied for the same (don't think i know of many who have... the only other chicky who liked the idea of neonates has had to drop back a semester)..
Liz the one of paris is on the window nearest the coffee place and its near the bottom, about a foot from the floor, on the right - how sucky is it to have the pics put near the floor.. i noticed jake is near the ground too. there is one girl in paris's catergory who is just gorgeous, a little blonde girl and she's right in the middle of the board at eye height - i bet you she will get lots of votes simply cos yes she is goreous and she is easily seen - her pic hits you as soon as you look at the board.. (definately not being mean cos she is gorgeous.. just stating the way things usually go... lol like at the supermarket, cheap stuff is stuck near the floor cos most people just look at eye height, it's just human nature) oh well - me and mike went and voted for our girls finally today.

so you are training to be a nurse Janine? My sister has done that is well, however she found out that she failed part of her last section, luckily she is able to resubmit it. Not sure how it works? She is wanting to do ER work.
Good luck with state, and the big job hunt! I hope you get placed where you want to work!

Ooooooo I'm sooo jealous! I have another 18 months. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh.
But well done Janine! Very happy for ya.
And I really hope you get the job in neonates or kids... you'd be a valuable person to have there. Especially having heard stories on here from parents of prems, you'd have a good idea (or at least some idea) of what or what not to say and do. Good luck!

lol yep Sarah Beth, and your sister is LUCKY. where i study, in 3rd year, you get NO resubmits - it's sucky, you have to pass everything, 1st time, every exam every assignment, every placement - I spose they reckon that if you don't know enough to pass first time by 3rd year then you probably shouldn't be let through anyway. In saying that, i have been petrified the whole year that i was going to fail something and there are a fair few that have dropped back a semester so that they can do the whole paper again.. all that money...
Nikki what are you studying towards again? My friend finished studying last year, she has a bachelor of arts i thinka nd she did forensic pyschology and all that interesting stuff as well. She got a job working for the labour party for a year, and is now working her way around europe - i get regular updates from her telling me about her trips to paris and portugal and spain and all those other exotic places... so hang in there, youll get there, and then you and Hannah can go on that big OE... lol i could just see her sitting still on a plane for that long

I will be honest, if my sister tried to practise nursing on me I would turn her way LOL! She failed one paper already and was held back a semester. The part of her final assessment she failed, was just a small part, I am unsure how it works, but basically she didn't meet a learning outcome. Apparently heaps of people failed.

I'm doing honours in International Relations at the moment. One semester down and 3 to go
I plan to be in France in October next year If all else fails, it's nice to dream about it!
I don't know how the heck anyone is going to employ me but ah well... I'll work something out. Met a guy who works for the Navy last night and he got me all excited about getting jobs. (He's got the same crap degree as me and he got employed! Yay! There is hope!)
