Well it's a good thing that I took today off...woke up still feeling grotty and rang in sick. Then just before B left for work I sneezed. Innocent enough when you have a cold right?

WRONG!!

I HEARD and FELT something go pop up around my rib cage and boy did it hurt. Scooted and saw the doctor as I have a big dislike of hearing things like that not to mention it hurt and she thinks I've just bruised the rib cartilidge. She said the "pop" was most likely like when you crack a knuckle and the caritlidge pops only it was my ribs.

So now it hurts when I sneeze or have to blow my nose. But at least I have a dr's certificate to pass to my manager and bed rest on dr's order! I happily holed up in bed all day to feel very sorry for myself!

I think this is the closest I've come to uttering the words "right I'm over this I want this pregnancy over!!!". I don't really mean it but I do feel in the wars at the moment!

Oh Paws....at least it was a 'POP' and not a'swish' of your pelvic floor admitting defeat and releasing your bladder. I have a cousin who had 5 kiddies and pretty much lost control of the wee switch with the last one....
Hope you are feeling better soon!!!!!

I had inflammed rib cartilige too - the only thing that helped was Arnica spray (taken orally-don't spray your ribs lol). I initially didn't want to take ANYTHING during my pregnancy but the pain just got worse and worse (as did the "popping") . Be extra careful when you get up from kneeling down as this was when it was most painful for me. The arnica cleared it up within a week, it really is great stuff and is in my hospital bag too

Good luck and I hope you get better soon

I think a couple of ladies, Toni you were one right (Toni with Alex and Blaire), actually dislocated ribs during the pregnancy!
And Paws, I think everyone whop has every been pregnant, has hasd quite a few momments oif "GET THIS CHILD OUT!!!!", and not necessarily during the birth, although that happends too.

Hope you're feeling better today.

OUCH Paws I can totally sympathise. I was the other one Liz was talking about. The only thing that helped slightly was a wheat pack. Hope it feels better soon...

Yup I was one of those lucky ones who dislocated ribs while pregnant. NOT FUN!!!
Even if it is just bruised cartilage its gotta hurt so you definitely get my sympathy!
And LOL at wanting the pregnancy over....I so know that feeling. I still have my list of all the reasons to have no more kids handy so if I ever feel clucky again I can just read it to remind me how bad the 1st & 3rd trimester really was for me

Well it is feeling a bit better today after most of 2 days spent in bed...I finally have to get up today though 'cos I'm so bored now!!

I have to be careful moving and stretching as it still hurts though but lucky there have been no more popping noises with my sneezes!
