Hi all

I am new to this site, and i will hopefully soon be new to New Zealand:)
My husband is very close to securing a job with Top Energy in the Northland. We are looking at staying in Kerikeri and just wondered if there are many people up there for meetups, advice on how easy it is to make friends up there etc as here in the UK in a small populated place people can be very clicky and not keen on new comers, im hoping its completey different in Kerikeri:)
Our 2 children are 4 and 2 years of age, and we would like to meet as many people as possible when we land in Kerikeri and make lots of new friends and have many play dates, coffee dates etc:)
Thank you
Rachel x

I live in Kerikeri!!!!
Beautiful place to live, heaps to do during the week with little ones. I am on the Plunket committee, we have toddler playgroups on Mondays at 10am. Playgym is 3 times a week, mainly music, toy library, playcentre etc. I have 3 kiddies, my youngest 2 are 3.5 and 2 so would love to catch up for a coffee and a play when you get here! PM if you need any advice, let me know when you arrive!
PS my name is also Rachel

Hi Rachel (and Rachel!)

I have lived in Kerikeri for 9 months and have an 18m old boy and am 4m preggers with number 2. I have just recently started at Plunket as the new 'Community Support Coordinator' and I was at the last committee meeting - though I'm not sure if I have met the other Rachel on the committee yet! Anyway, what a small world it is! I would also be happy to meet you when you're settled here. We usually go along to the Monday Plunket Play Group & Mainly Music sessions that run on Tues & Thursdays.   You will meet lots of neat people here so don't fret! It is a beautiful place to live. Have a safe trip out here and no doubt see you when you arrive! :-)

Hi Rachel,

I'm another mum up in Kerikeri with a 3 and 8 year old - we have been up here just over a year now and love the place - although finding it hard to get past the acquaintance stage and find some good friends like we had in other areas....will get there though....

There is so much to do up here for littlies and the weather is awesome too, lots of playgroups, music, playcentre etc and the mums here all seem really friendly.

Hi Skirts

Great to hear that everyone seems to love the place, im sure we will too. I suppose it does take time but we will be like and be hoping to make those 'good friends' too.

Love the fact there is lots of things to do with the kids, there isn't too much where we live now, so they get bored and i do too especially in the school holidays as there is not a lot of things to do with the kiddies.

So hopefully Kerikeri will keep us all entertained and hopefully we will have lots of new friends to meet up with
