 Topic: Storing baby clothes

Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering what the best way is to store baby clothes and cloth nappies for long periods of time.
Also, I've been trying to send a PM but it won't send - do I have to have made a certain number of posts before I can send PMs?

We stored our baby clothes in those big 20l plastic boxes you get from the warehouse. We were given stuff in them that had been stored for 3 years and everyting in them was fine. Dont know about the PM question sorry

I stored all baby clothes in ordinary plastic bags. DS1 was nearly 4yr when we had DS2 & the clothes were all fine. I washed everything before storing & washed before using for the next child.

Ditto on the big plastic containers with lids, I have ones on wheels and just store them in the cupboard stacked on top of eachother, works really well

Same with the plastc bins, but I also got a bunch of old suit bags for free from a drycleaners and I stored clothes in those brilliant and they squish right up to make more room :)

do the plastic bins work just as well stored in ceiling or shed? seem there plastic id imagine quite safe from mice if there are any?

We store ours in the shed and they are fine, i do go out every couple of months and check them for mice just in case but they seem fine

We store those plastic bins full of clothes under the roof and I hope they will still be okay in a year or two!

Yep mine are in plastic bins in the garage and are fine. They just get a bit of a plasticy smell which goes way once they have been washed.

I suggest to use a plastic container or else Milk creates will be best solution for you. You can find through market or else through online also.

Ive stored ours in those plastic tubs but also Huggies nappy boxes - I was given a couple and they have been great for storing teeny tiny newborn clothes. All the basinnete/cot blankets/sheets and cloth nappies are in the plastic bins.

I store mine in vacuum seal bags takes up less room and prevents clothes getting mouldy or smelling in storage.

There is no point in storing baby clothes that you didn't like for your baby, and there is no point in storing clothes that you know you would not use for another baby.

Our changing table is an old wooden dresser from habitat. Lots of storage inside and we have a changing mat on the top which can be stored down the side if you want it out of view. We then have a shelf above with baby clothes & nappies etc on which you could hide in lidless boxes. So is a normal looking bit of furniture rather than looking like baby stuff
