It took us 7 years to get pregnant with Alex and DH is keen to start on no 2 soon as he feels that the longer we wait the harder it will become again do you ladies have any thoughts on this? I had a laparoscopy and all that entails just over a year before A was concieved and I was found to have endo as well as a few other probs that were fixed (unless of course my tube kinks itself again). I want to wait until A is a year old but am not totally bothered on when we have another as my pregnancy and birth were both way to easy but just wanted to know if I can make DH wait or if we should just ditch the condoms now.

Thanks heaps

my motto is start trying for whatever minimum age gap you want..so if you want at least an 18 month age you start trying at 9 months.

I have often heard of couples taking years to conceive their first but their 2nd was conceived with only a few months.

no real other advice to give but all the best :)

It's totally a personal choice and good luck with whatever you both decide.

My sis was in a similar situation.  She had DS1 and then waited a year and started trying again.  It took 5 long hard emotionally fraught years, 3 mcs and surgery to remove endo before she became pregnant with DS2, 7 months after DS2 was born she became pregnant with DS3 without even trying (literally, it was a lovely wee surprise).  You never know what can happen.
