Topic: Prams Question Posted: 14 January 2007 at 8:23am |
We were thinking we ahd better get on the look out for a new pram, as Haleigh willstill be too young to walk on her own for long periods when babies born.
I have seen a really nice Valco ones in baby factory but alone they cost $900 and we would have to get a toddler seat (which we found out theirs holds a good decent weight for toddlers) was over $100.
I saw a lady the other day with this really cool pram and Im nto sure what it was but it had baby lying in back and it was all nice and snug looking and covered from the sun, then the toddler in the front but it wasnt a toddler seat it looked more like a pram with a place for a baby in the back (if you kinda get what I mean its kinda hard to describe).
Does anyone know what pram it could be? Or of any other prams with toddler seats (that can hold over 14kgs as my 15 month is 14kg already) all ideas will be great
Thanks

Ask Janine (mum2paris) about Phil and Teds e3. i have a feeling you can get them quite cheaply from www.winkalotts.co.nz not 100% sure about that though.

Plese don't buy this pram we have it it is awful to push if you are going for the toddler seat you need a 4 weeler or I have herd good thing's about hte phil 'n' Teds. The Valco is horrilbe in my opoion I find it really hard to push and if you get it on hte wrong angle it tip's.

The Phil and Ted that you are discribing is wonderful. My friend got one when she had her second 16 months after the first and she loves it. He eldest is almost 3 (same age as Andrew) and the youngest is 16 months old and is still in the bottom bit of the pram so her eldest can still sit in the pram. I've pushed it a few times and I think it is great as well.
ETA: She got her's off TradeMe, so have a look there to get it at a cheaper price.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

We're thinking we might have to get a new one, the original pram we got where the capsule clicks in flat out sucks - doesn't let Erin sit completely upright, and we have no use for the capsule now that she is in a proper carseat. This Phil & Teds one sounds interesting, so I will be checking out TM too... (don't know if I can convince Roland to buy another new!)

yep MIL got ours off trademe and all we had to get was a toddler seat which baby city will order in for you.. even for the older models. ours came with the sinlge covers for sun and rain and a double rain too... all for about $700 so WAY cheaper.. considering the covers are about $40 each the double covers are $70 etc.
definately sounds like a phil n teds that you were describing. they have a site if you google it, and it wil show you all the options of how the buggy can go together.

he he Jax, You'll be sold on it..
Jes, that's the main reason i had to have one too, is because we did so much walking and there was no way that i wanted Paris getting caught out in the rain.. plus, it gave more support to her back if she fell asleep.. toddler seats usually stop midway up their back.. if they fall asleep they either end up slumped forward, or leaning back in a very uncomfy way.
Paris like being in there under the double cover.. she says it's like a spaceship

they do look much more cosy than a toddler seat and pram. Haleigh always falls asleep in the pram when we're walking longer than 20mins (which I always do seen as I live up a huge hill).
I've shown DF the one I want so he knows what to get, we might buy from winkalotts online seen as its free delivery and I ahvent seen any in the stores here. We're in no hurry for one yet, wish we saw them when I was pregnant with Haleigh.
This will be the 3rd pram we've been through
