Topic: early pregnacy symptoms Posted: 17 July 2006 at 9:40am |
I was wondering, what did you all feel very early on in your pregnancy. I have had some cramping, but that seems to have been replaced with a very tight tummy feeling, almost like I did a huge ab work out yesterday. It feels very odd, and I just keep thinking, is this normal? Have already done 3 knicker checks and think I am losing the plot.

i had the cramps in the tummy, like a period, also felt sick all the time, very tired and emotional.
i'm not too sure on the sore ab's thing, maybe someone else can reassure you on that one

Your tummy muscles are streching even thou there isn't much to strech them with yet. If the pain comes and goes I wouldn't worry to much but it is a constent thing maybe call your MW if you have arranged one or your DR and speak with the nurse. I had tummy pains with Andrew my whole pregnancy and have just started them again.

I remember early on in my pregnancy I had a lot of minor pains/stretching type feelings - I think this is pretty normal.

I had wicked cramps all the way up to...um... I think about 20 weeks then they went away, now I am getting them again... I think the early cramps are your uterus stretching...and the later ones are muscles stretching.
Cramps are pretty normal from what I hear from my midwife and others, as long as they are not so bad you cant move around and you get no bleeding with them ...
My symptoms were:
extreme triedness
nausea in morning and night
cramps
needing to pee alot (THAT hasnt changed all teh way through LOL)
UMMMM and just generally feelign bloated and period-ish really...
Sounds like you are doign fine...just relax and take it in your stride, and it's normal to be a nervous knicker checker...we ALL were like that!!!

I'm seconding everything the others have already said! I felt like I was expecting the worst ever period to arrive, from when a period would have been due 'till the morning sickness kicked in at 6 weeks. It was just my uterus stretching. My mum didn't feel the same, but my MIL did and she's been pregnant 8 times!!

the worst for me was the tiredness, and the extreme low immunity to every single cold going around... i caught everything around, and still do. The tight feeling in the tummy is another, also bloating lots. i like to think that every symptom is a good sign :)

I can vouch for the cold thing. I got the flu 2 weeks ago, the last time I got the flu was when I was 6 weeks pregnant with Andrew. And tiredness big time. I so don't know how I am going to cope with the study I have put myself in for over the next few weeks.

I had bad cramps from early on... And also super-smelling-abilities. I could have told you what flavour ice cream you were eating from a mile off.

I also had lots of cramps for first three months or so. I was constantly worried but it was ok.
Try not to worry - although it is easier said that done!

I have the tight tummy feeling - guess it's normal since there is a baby growing in there. But other than that I have been OK so far

Hey Sarah - I had that sore tummy thing very early on as well. It is very normal and is because all your bits are streching to get ready for carrying your bubba.
