He weighs about 9lb, was 8lb 6.5 oz last monday so am guessing about 9lb by now. That's a small but today I have put a medium on him on the first cross over setting. I think his legs might be a bit too skinny for the medium but we will see, hopefully he won't leak out of it.
Thank you for all the lovely comments, I think he is very cute too.

Ooooh, that's made me so broody!!! I plan to use mediums on my little baby due March and as I'm expecting a 9lb-er I'm hoping that it will fit from 6-8wks (I have an assortment of newborn nappies to use until then).

That's great to hear! The large always managed to contain my toddler's mushy poo (which was NEVER 'solid') dispite the tiny fit on his ample bottom

You have inspired me to try my medium on James today....as long as it sits under his stump which is still to fall off.

cord stumps Dh took care of Spencer's but Kyle's came off on my watch and it really grossed me out.
Nicolann my 19 month old still fits the mediums and not even on the biggest setting yet.

so based on this thread, would you ladies recommend missing the smalls and going straight to mediums for the itti's?
oh and kyle looks soooo cute!

I guess it depends on the size of your newborn. My babies have been good sizes (last was just shy of 9lbs) so I decided it wasn't worth the money to buy smalls and I'm hoping to use mediums from around 6wks (or earlier). I've bought cheap preloved newborns nappies to use until then, or you could just use disposables for the first few weeks. If you're looking for value for money, I'd skip the smalls
