Do you mean one of those electric swings that rocks baby? Someone gave me one before I had Quinnn but I barely ever used it. He seemed much happier inhis cheapo bouncer thing.

Sorry I mean an electronic swing. I never purchased one with my first but thought it may come in handy with the second.

I was going to buy a vibrating bouncer thing and my mil offered to buy it as her present to Addy. Her and hubby went out shopping for it while I was still in hospital and came home with a swing instead. Its one that rocks automatically and plays different music, they got it from baby factory I think, pretty expensive but they got it on sale. At the moment I havent really used it to much becuase she is in her bassinet all day but I think it will be handy later when I need hands free to deal with Kobe. The down side is its big and really needs ot stay in one place whereas I wanted a boucner so I could move her into the shower ot kitchen etc... I guess depends on what you want to use it for but the other good thing about it is it can double for a high chair as it can sit the baby right up and also has a wee table thingy in front

we had an electric swing type one in usa a few years back. Was ok but i think I freaked out more when the baby was in it....it just didnt seem that stable to me...? Im not sure what brand is here but def try them out and see them going with some weight in them while they are in the shop - will give you an idea.
I hear the baby hammocks are wonderful, and have friends who love them, but quite different to the baby swing. One of the advantages for the swing would be baby can see you and isnt looking up so much as from a bouncer I guess? But then there are some great bouncers on the market too

I have been lent a baby swing for Zac and it has been great (although he is too big for it now). We use to put him in it when we had our lunch and dinner as that use to be the time he always seemed to cry. I would also move it into the kitchen and put him in it while I prepared dinner.
