So anyway for the last couple weeks every time someone picks Leah up (apart from me & dh) she grizzles and ALWAYS looks for me, dh thinks coz i pay to much attention to her during the day, um yep im with her all day everyday what am i meant to let her play and learn by herself, and yes she does play by herself sometimes. Wat if i wana go out for a day or night without her will she cope?? Wat am i meant to do? Will she grow out of this??

Babies and small children tend to go through stages of stranger danger and clinginess to their main caregiver. They are just stages though.
Michaela was very clingy to me around 4 mo, @ 10mo she was clingy to DH and one time even bawled her eyes crying when I took her out and without her daddy ( ).
If you want to go out she will cope, it's you that's likely to have trouble and don't worry, it's probably a stage which she will grow out of.

Isobelle is 4 months next week and is doing exactly the same thing. They have just become more aware of their family. Its great that you spend lots of time with her, she will really thrive on that and you shouldn't stop. You can't spoil a baby that young.
The good news is she will grow out of it. The bad news is the older they get the worse the attachment periods. Wait til she is mobile and won't let you even go to the toilet my yourself!

Jackson is also doing the same thing. Bottom lip drops right out when anyone other than DH or I holds him.
However, he gets over it pretty quick. As long as he can see me he usually settles down with visitors after a short while. Distraction works wonders at this age.

Last month someone came to visit whom Joel had never seen before, she said hello and he dropped his bottom lip and sobbed. (man did that look funny though) Doesn't seem to be doing that anymore, now he has developed a horrible screech instead. She will move on to bigger and better things as well.

Finley did this last night, i blamed tiredness at the time, someone he had never met came and gave him a book and he just dropped the lip and cried.
Today the book got giggles, so it wasn't that.

This just recently happened to us, when I started back at work part-time  It broke my heart!
Now Hayley is ok if she can see me, and will go to her home-based carer pretty well (it took a week), especially now she knows the new environment and the other children (theres only 2 others) - and they love her!

Caden did the same thing at around the same age, someone would pick him up and and he would always make sure he could see me and if i left the room he would cry, but he grew out of it and now he will happily go to anyone, he is very aware of people he doesnt know and will still make sure he can see me of DF or someone he knows but he doesnt cry.

We didn't get this at 4 months due to the fact that the number of people the girls are exposed to is limited as both our families live on the other side of the world.
However, when we were up there at Xmas, it was 2 weeks before we could leave the girls in a room with the grandparents/aunties/uncles without us being there.
Eimear is a big daddys girl. She sometimes will cry if DH hands her back to me (so he can cuddle Aoife) after he gives her a cuddle when he gets back to work.

We definitely got that at 4months - it was like a little light went on and she took note of who was holding her! She seems to be going through that phase again now, at 7 months, at least I hope it is a phase, it's lasting a rather long time!
It's good to know she's not the only one, as she's the only coffee group baby who won't interact with the other babies or let her mummy leave the room to go to the toilet 
Isn't it so cute when they drop their bottom lip though? It makes me want to give her a cuddle anyway

Caitlyn very rarely did this, she was used to being without me and staying at her dads from a month old, but when she was one I remember her screaming and clinging to me when he picked her up , broke my heart !
Now shes clingier, she would rather stay home with me than stay at other people's places, but she will if need be .

I was the same as MrsMojo... E was like this at 4-6 months then about 9-11 months..it was awful...but he grew out of it and although he likes me around he's starting pre school tuesday for a few hours and initial visits he has been fine..
so yeah she will grow out of it but i know how frustrating it is:)!!

Jackson did this around the same age.
We just went away for the weekend and went to pick up Jackson from my parents, and he screamed his little lungs out when he saw us It was almost like he was frightened of us. Mum thinks he probably only just realised we were missing ? Gosh it was awful.
