Wooo! Got flights to go visit my sis in Queenstown.

Mind you, $1 fares ended up costing $52 return for the 2 (3) of us, counting baggage and credit card fees

damn now i come to think of it we could have got away with one checked bag between us, that would have saved $20...

Well you can imagine what would happen to the webserver with half the country trying to get tickets

But even though the flights are only $1 I've heard so many bad things about Jetstar that I would never ever fly with them - even if it was free!

I actually really enjoyed flying Jetstar cos we got $130 tickets when they started up their Bangkok route, so after taxes etc we saved ourselves 2k.

Glad some people got some tickets though, I would have done it if I actually had a reason to go anywhere lol

Damn it tried for ages and didnt get anywhere, got through to the credit card bit too.

We flew Jetstar for our Honeymoon, it was when they first started and they had an opening deal it cost us $360 return to Australia for us both including taxes - we were rapt - UNTIL they decided to change the date we were ment to fly out on, which wasnt possibly since it was the day were were getting married! Lol.

Put up a fight and funny how they managed to get us back on the original flight - but the week prior they were saying no way could we be on the original flight.

That's similar to what happened to my parents BooBoo. They were going to Syndey for the weekend to see a show and Jetstar cancelled their flight. The worst thing was that Jetstar didn't tell them that the flight was cancelled. They got a panicked call from the travel agent right as they were leaving for the airport because she had just discovered it was cancelled by accident.

I've heard lots of other complaints about them and they've had so many complaints laid against them with the commerce commission in Aus its a wonder they are still in business. Maybe the NZ operation will be better than the Aus one.
